Tonkatsu Kimchi Nabe, no more

Baby picked me up from Bukit Timah after my hair treatment... As Baby got a SGD5 voucher via snail mail from Watami ION, so we decided to have our lunch there on a random day...

Due to the tragic disaster which recently happened in Japan, food supplies were affected and some were banned for consumption and export... Therefore, Watami had changed their menu to ensure that their food is safe to be consumed.

When we got hold of the new menu, we discovered that all the prices have been increased and importantly, Baby’s favourite Tonkatsu Kimchi Nabe has been lifted up from the menu... Sadly we changed our order to Salmon Nabe instead. The broth is not as tasty as our all time favourite - Tonkatsu Kimchi Nabe... Our routine orders – a separate plate of Udon, and of course an additional bowl of rice for Baby to go with the soup. As per normal, we ordered 2 side dishes to complete our meal... We ordered a new item from the new menu – Gyu Tsukune (Hamburger Meat Balls with Egg)... I love the well –pan fried meat balls and they tasted even better with the beaten egg.

The other side dish that was an old item that is still in the menu - Teppan Bou Gyoya... Savoury in the inside and crispy at the outside... I enjoyed the Gyoza very much. There is a mini promotion going on... Selected beverages are going at half price when you order any new items from the menu... The damage was SGD45 (after SGD5 deduction)... Thanks Baby for the hearty lunchie!
