[staycation] Wrapping up 2020 with St. Regis Singapore
To wrap up the extraordinary year of 2020, we decided to give ourselves another round of staycation. We booked a night stay at the Executive Deluxe Room at St. Regis Hotel.
Upon entering the room, the nearest thing to the entrance was the tea and coffee setup. One of the perks of staying at the St. Regis Hotel was the butler service which offers a 24/7 complimentary tea and coffee.
The
St. Regis Singapore is one of the city's most luxurious hotels. I love the huge
marble bathroom which featured a standalone soaking tub and premium spa-ready
bath products.
The
bathroom was probably the most impressive part of the room. There were two
sinks, one on either side of the room. The bathroom amenities are from the
hotel’s own Remède Spa.
Most
importantly, they provided us with a bottle of Sanitizer and 2 face masks for
our usage!
We settled for our dinner at Brasserie Les Saveurs, and we were served some complimentary bread once we were seated.
The main courses tasted perfect. We actually had some hotel dining credits, so the entire meal cost us about SGD 80+ after deduction of said credits. Although the damage was hefty, the food quality more than compensated for it!
We
went out for a walk at the nearby shopping mall, Tanglin Mall to take some
random Christmas Display before calling it a day!
Our stay was inclusive of breakfast, and I must say the selection was pretty good and wide. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic buffets are now not allowed. Well, not exactly not allowed, as the new norm is now buffet ala-carte ordering! You can make your orders by scanning the QR code that was provided in lieu of a physical menu.
The next morning we had breakfast at the same restaurant that we had our dinner last night. Our stay was inclusive of breakfast, and I must say the selection was pretty good and wide. We were served with bread/pastry set and fruit set on arrival.
This hearty breakfast is worth waking up early for - Epicurean Omelette. It is a luxe omelette served with tiger prawns covered in a lobster bisque emulsion topped with black caviar.
We made about 3-4 rounds of re-ordering food! To be honest, we still prefer the traditional buffet but oh well... I think we will have to get used to this new norm!
