Kreta Ayer Charity Dinner with Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore
In the Year of the Horse, Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore (APB Singapore) has taken its charity outreach one step further with a series of Lunar New Year initiatives that bring cheer and joy to the elderly and needy. Nearly 50% of APB Singapore’s staff joined the spring cleaning project to clean up 46 rental flats of 200 senior citizens at Jalan Kukoh.
Apart
from the annual Lunar New Year Charity Dinner for elderly beneficiaries at
Kreta Ayer Square, for the first time, APB Singapore spring-cleaned 46 rented
flats for the elderly at Jalan Kukoh and supported ‘Chair for a Cause’, a programme
of Chingay 2014, that provided 1,500 tickets to beneficiaries of charities to
enjoy the exhilarating multi-cultural performances at the parade.
To date, this is the largest staff volunteer effort by Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore who has been dedicated to serving the Kreta Ayer community since 2002.
APB
Singapore hosted the 2014 Kreta Ayer Charity Dinner in partnership with the
Kreta Ayer Community Centre, and I was invited to join in the celebration of
Lunar New Year Charity Dinner with the old folks at Kreta Ayer Square.
I
felt very special as this was a good kick-start of welcoming the Lunar New Year, as well as to raise my CNY mood. I brought my babe, Rosanne with me to the charity dinner
as she always passionate to help out the needy elders...
She
shares the same birthday with me, and it is pretty hard to find one and this
bonds us up together tightly. Thanks Rosanne and Happy Birthday to you and me!
Kudos
to 50 staff volunteers from APB Singapore for the great job in serving the old
folks during the dinner. While having our dinner, the hosts and performers
entertained the old folks with some stage performances.
This
year, 200 elderly beneficiaries attending the Charity Dinner at Kreta Ayer
Square and they enjoyed the auspicious ‘Lo-Hei’.
Guest-of-Honour, Dr. Lily Neo,
Member of Parliament, Tanjong Pagar GRC was there to usher in the Lunar New
Year in style and festive feasting, and she sang a song for the old folks, and
they seemed to love her vocals and she sang well indeed!
Both
Rosanne and I enjoyed the sumptuous dinner with a high spirit of CNY feeling...
Through
the various philanthropic activities, APB Singapore aims to give back to the
community in a more impactful way and to make this Lunar New Year a more
meaningful and memorable one for its beneficiaries and staff.
Before
we ended our night at Kreta Square, the veteran actress, Cai Ping Kai (er-gu)
joined us at our table for some desserts, and Rosanne took the opportunity to snap
a photo with her...
Thanks
so much for the invite and I am so looking forward for Chinese New Year...
