ABSOLUT ELYX: The Craft of Perfection

ABSOLUT ELYX is an ultra premium vodka that honors the roots of Swedish spirit‐making tradition. Each batch of ABSOLUT ELYX is produced in a hand-operated still from 1929. As the Swedish vodka-maker's philosophy: It is not merely the age‐old tools and quality materials that make the difference but the heritage and skills passed down through the generations.

ABSOLUT ELYX celebrates and honors the art of traditional craftsmanship in Singapore with a new campaign titled ‘The Craft of Perfection'. The exhibition is at 47 Tessensohn Road, a conservation shophouse and opens to the public. Admission is free.

Copper distillation is the natural way to remove any impurities in vodka and refined copper column gives ABSOLUT ELYX a natural pure taste and unique silky texture.

Manually distilled in a copper column still from 1929, and made from a single harvest of Swedish winter wheat, ABSOLUT ELYX is the result of century‐old expertise, passed down through generations of Swedish vodka makers.

The debut features traditional key-smith, a certified Master Locksmith, Mr Chow Ho Weng, 66 who runs a little key‐making shop - Handy Service in the heart of Chinatown. He has been working with locks and keys for almost 50 years.

The campaign aims to celebrate recognizing and paying tribute to the importance of craftsmanship. This exhibition also helps to bring a group of handpicked artisans in Singapore to showcase their craft and heritage.

Through the exhibition, I saw how these craftsmen learnt and honed their craft over the decades.

In addition, all visitors to the exhibition will be able to enjoy a complimentary ABSOLUT ELYX Tropics cocktail that has been specially created for the event, available exclusively at the pop up bar within the premises.

This is the very first time that ABSOLUT ELYX has a pop-up bar in Singapore.

All thanks to the precise manufacturing methods, ABSOLUT ELYX has been bestowed with a fresh and elegant taste. There is a subtle floral and fruity tone from the first sniff. I took the first sip, it is smooth and silky in texture that leaves a hint of spiciness. It is definitely best enjoyed neat or on the rocks, however mixing them in a classic cocktail gives an special enjoyable touch too.

I was glad to experience and learn about the history of key and locks through this exhibition. I was amazed by the cool artefacts and antiques related to key-making.
