The 18th Singapore Hit Awards 2013

Thanks F&N Fruit Tree Fresh for giving me the opportunity to attend the 18th Singapore Hit Awards 2013 'LIVE' at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.

My partner of the night was Claressa, and we were super excited, as we were about to watch 'LIVE' performances from top notch artistes around the regions.

Singapore Hit Awards 2013 was watched and heard by Mandopop supporters in more than 20 cities around the world.

The Singapore Hit Awards is back to honor the best of Mandopop in the music industry, and I was looking forward to a night of music and glamour from the longest running Chinese music awards ceremony.

This year, Singapore Hit Awards brought the audience on a walk down memory lane with local artistes presenting a medley of chart toppers from the last three decades as it coincided with the 30th anniversary of Singapore’s premier Mandarin chart show, Pick of the Pops.

Sweetie was at the party, and of course my brother and his wife were there at the ceremony too...

Prior to the prize giving ceremony, there was a red carpet interview and I was lucky that I managed to catch Karen Mok and Alien Huang at the red carpet...

Taiwanese artiste Wilber Pan kicked off the opening act of the night. Together with his group of six Taiwanese dancers, they presented us with an electrifying segment to get our mood started.

Wilber Pan received the Versatile Male Artiste Award and Charismatic Male Performer Award

Penny Tai, Malaysian songbird won the Best Album Award and the Outstanding Regional Artiste award (Malaysia).

Karen Mok received the Asia Influential Artiste Award, Charismatic Female Performer Award and Best Female Vocalist Award.

Karen recently just came out with a new jazz English album and her dressing for the night suited her high society image.

Bai Ann has lovely vocals that charmed all the audience at the Singapore Hit Awards 2013, and she received the Best New Artiste Award.

Our local artistes, Olivia Ong and Derrick Hoh were at the Singapore Hit Awards 2013 too...

Our most talented singer is Olivia Ong who received the Outstanding Regional Artiste Award (Singapore)

Our local rising star, Derrick Hoh received Breakthrough Artiste Award, and I simply adore his latest English song, FOREVER. But most importantly, it reminds me about my favorite song during my teenage life, ETERNAL LOVE by PJ DUNCAN

Taiwanese band, Magic Power made their return to Singapore Hit Awards after their first triumph way back in 2010, and now they received the Best Band Award at Singapore Hit Awards 2013

Magic Power invited Alien Huang and Sexy Goddess, Karen Mok to join them in their signature dance moves. It was the most interesting and funny segment of the night…

Alien Huang has a sharp dress sense, as I personally felt that he out-shone the rest with his dressing style. He deserved to win the F&N Fruit Tree Fresh Stylish Artiste Award. Apart from that award, he also received the Most Popular Male Artiste Award.

Hong Kong artiste Julian Cheung, aka ‘Captain Cool’ from his role in Hong Kong drama, ‘Triumph in the Skies II’ appeared at Singapore Hit Awards for the very first time this year. He received the Global Eminence Award and Channel U Popularity Award.

Grasshopper, the legendary group in Hong Kong's music industry, received the highest level of respect and they were awarded with The Honorary Award.

We had an awesome night, thanks for the invitation once again!!
