[Media Launch] LG G Flex, first-ever curved smart-phone
Sweetie and I were invited to be part of the LG Electronics' legacy as they announced the launch of LG G FLEX, a leading evolution of smart-phones with breakthrough innovations.
The media launch session was held at Suntec City Convention and Exhibition Centre.
LG G FLEX is the first device in the smart-phone market that is designed with a curve, to follow the contour of the human face.
LG G FLEX has an ultra-thin, ultra-light flexible POLED 6-inch display and curved OLED panel which are built on plastics substrates instead of glass which gives LG G FLEX a flexible shape and durability. This is all thanks to REAL RGB that enhances the POLED display to provides brighter and more precise images.
The vertically curved design of the LG G FLEX
reduces the distance between the user’s mouth to the microphone when the device
is held against the ear.
In landscape mode, the display offers a
cinematic experience to fit the contours of human’s eyes and thus gives a
better and comfortable viewing angle while watching videos or play games.
We are happy to be the first few to witness the
launch of LG G FLEX, the first-ever curved smart-phone in Singapore.
World’s first curved battery technology was
specially created for LG G FLEX, and despite it's thin form, the LG G FLEX
battery has a capacity of 3500mAh which is more than enough to supply power for more than a
full day's usage.
My favorite function, KnockON mode which was first available
at LG G2 is also available for LG G FLEX. This unique mode turns the device on or off by tapping the display twice.
The LG G FLEX also features the Rear Key function
which was first introduced in LG G2, as it provides the convenience of just using
the index finger to adjust the volume while on the phone.
I love the way the Face Detection Indicator is displayed in the LED
green on the Rear Key, to confirm the status of face detection. It focuses automatically for self-taking photos using the rear camera.
Apart from its unique shape, the LG G FLEX is also
the first smart-phone to apply ‘Self Heating’ costing on the back cover. The
elastic costing has the ability to recover from the daily wear-and-tear
scratches and nicks that un-cased smart-phones are likely to receive thus helping to maintain a brand-new look.
Light refreshment was provided during the media session...
Not to forget my plus one (guest) Yeo Terence, who 'ahsum'
me and Sweetie during the launch event, and he is always there helping us
around... We had an awesome time at LG G FLEX Media Launch Session.
The
LG G Flex is currently available for pre-order from SingTel, StarHub and M1. It
will also be available from 21st December 2013, at a recommended retail
price of SGD1088.
