Say NO! to Cervical Cancer

Upon receiving the invite, and RSVP for it without a second thought as I want to be part of the event to spread awareness for a good cause. Cervical cancer is caused by a strain of virus – Human Papillomavirus (HPV) , and t he two main precautions taken against cervical cancer are Pap Smears and HPV vaccination , and with the help these options, we, ladies will have a better protection ourselves from contracting the disease. HPV is commonly transmitted through sexual intercourse, via contact at the genital areas as well as pregnancy from the mother to the new-born during delivery. HPV infection is silent, and unsuspecting infected individuals do not know that they may have contracted the disease and may unknowingly spread the virus. The Bone Marrow Donor Programme (BMDP) is a non-profit organisation responsible for building and managing Singapore’s only register of volunteer donors who are willing to donate their bone marrow to save the lives of patients with leukaemia and other blood diseases that require a transplant to survive. [Ovarian Campaign Awareness Month] Positively Teal Media Event

Ovarian Cancer is the 5th most common cancer and is also the one of the deadliest Gynaecological Cancer among Singapore women today.     A woman has two ovaries which are part of the female reproductive system and each ovary is made up of different cells each performing its own function, but when these cells grow abnormally, ovarian cancer will be formed.     People who are at risk of ovarian cancer are those who have early menarche and late menopause, infertility or not having children until late in life, family history of ovarian, breast or colorectal cancer and high fat diet.   I attended the Positively Teal Media Event which was held at Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie , and it was an exclusive event as I gained knowledge and it also raise my awareness for Ovarian Cancer .      I was given this cute collar badge upon entering the premises as part of the media event...   While waiting for the event...
