[All about food] Tampopo + Ma Maison + Sanook Kitchen + Genki Sushi + Busan Pocha

Image
Baby and I spent our Sun-date lunch at  Tampopo  which is located at  Takashimaya Shopping Centre . This eatery place is well-known for their  Kuro Buta . We ordered Ramen as our mains,  and we also shared yummy Wagyu  Beef Croquette and Tempura Moriawase  as sides to go along with our mains.  Thanks for the awesome lunch, Baby! Hayden gatecrashed into RKM’s Fri-date. We brought him with us to Sanook Kitchen at WestMall ! The trio of us love Thai cuisine, and we were delighted by the wide food selection that Sanook Kitchen offers! We went back to Genki Sushi for a sushi fix at fairly new outlet recently opened at SingPost on a random weekend. Luckily, it was a short wait before we got our seats. We ordered quite a few random sushi items and our orders 'rode' in on a mini Shinkansen (Bullet Train) which came all the way from the kitchen. This is definitely faster than a conveyor belt! I was happy to see some of my favorite types of premiu...

[random] Eating out at Kanada-Ya + Changi Jewel

Image
Singaporeans love ramen, and lately there have been many new ramen restaurants spotted in Singapore.  Finally, I got the chance to try out Kanada-Ya which recently opened in November at Marina Square . Previously, when the flagship store was opened at Paya Lebar Quarter last December, the queue was horrendous. I was forced to give up and to seek another meal alternative in the mall instead! You can probably understand why I was elated when another new outlet opened so close to my workplace! Baby went for the  Basic Tonkotsu Mix Ramen , while I had the Basic Black Garlic Ramen , and they tasted equally delicious.  We also tried one side dish, the Crab Cream Croquette . It was marvellous! Not only was the batter  super crunchy, but it was also fluffy and light, without the any greasiness. This is a satisfactory meal. The ramen is good, and I will come back again. I paid SGD50 for two persons. A little treat for my Baby!  At Jiu Gong Ge hotpot ( 九 宫格火锅 ) , they ...

[Dine & Drink] Dinner at Mrs Pho & New Teck Kee Chicken Rice Restaurant + Sixteen Ounces

I really enjoy the food served by the Vietnamese eatery 'Mrs Pho' , and I am glad that Baby brought me there during one of our random dinner dates!  Mrs Pho  was opened by Vietnamese nationals, and they promise a slice of Saigon when you enter the premises! There is no fusion food in the menu, as they offer only traditional Vietnamese food. We always order the  Fried Spring Roll (Cha Gio)  as our side dish. Each spring roll is stuffed with  juicy filling and is deep-fried to a perfect crisp.   I had  chicken Noodle (Pho Ga)  for myself, and the flat rice noodle was cooked to perfection. I love the broth too, and I always enhance the taste of the soup by squeezing lime and adding a dash of fish sauce that Vietnamese restaurants always provide.   The total damage was about SGD40 and this was inclusive of the 2 glasses of  Salty lemonade drink (Chanh Muai), 2 main courses and 2 side dishes . The service is friendly and e...
