[POCARI SWEAT RUN 2016] 'Journey to the Moon'

Image
The POCARI SWEAT RUN returned for a fifth edition this year, with a special theme! 'Journey to the Moon' , as it was called, was to signify the amount of distance covered from every POCARI SWEAT Run since its beginning till now! This particular distance, after completion of this year's run, would cover enough kilometres to actually reach the moon from earth! The run was held at The Float @ Marina Bay this year, and the flag off time was at 6pm.   To give you a further insight into the theme this year, runners who took part in the previous editions of POCARI SWEAT RUNs have contributed a cumulated distance of 380,000KM. Over the four years, participants have covered a total of 300,000KM - a distance which is more than 75% of the distance between the Earth and the Moon. This year, there were about 10,000 runners who took part and joined their efforts to complete the remaining 80,000KM of POCARI SWEAT's Journey to the Moon.   There were many activities l...

[Mizuno Ekiden] Team MESUGOI completed 21.1KM Race

Image
The second edition of the Mizuno Ekiden Run this year took place at The Promontory @ Marina Bay . This year, Mizuno Ekiden is part of a year-long SJ50 Celebration  in commemoration of 50 years of diplomatic ties and good relations between Singapore and Japan. This race helps to bring and promote unique Japanese culture in Singapore. It was encouraging to see many people enjoying themselves. as well as experiencing a sporting event that promotes strong Japanese core values.      I experienced my first Japanese-themed race,  Mizuno Ekiden in the evening around 4pm, and I met up with my team members at the Matsuri Race Village  prior to our run. There was a taiko drum beat playing at the village, which added to the atmosphere!     Mizuno Ekiden is a long distance relay race, and for this event, there were two categories of a 21.1KM run and a 42.195KM run for a group of 4 members. The race is used to...

[GEWR 2015] Welcome session of #RuntoLiveGreat

Image
This year, Great Eastern Women's Run ( GEWR) 2015 celebrates 10 years of empowering women to live healthy and great through running, and at the same time, to commemorate SG50.   Thanks for the invite! This year, I was not part of the  #RuntoLiveGreat programme, but I will still participate in the Great Eastern Women's Run (GEWR), which will be taking place on the 1st November of 2015 at The Float@Marina Bay . I attended the welcome session of  #RuntoLiveGreat  together with the selected 80 pairs of participants which was held at  The Luxe Museum. During the welcome session, we had the chance to meet up with the  #RunToLiveGreat  influencers, Cheryl Miles and Kelly Latimer and the most inspiring pair from last year’s edition - Zann Soh and her mom, Teo Yok Wan. The female pacer Ranjini Mei Hua was also there. They shared their personal experiences and tips to encourage the participant...

[Jess Baby's Corner] Makan Buddies Meet-up + POCARI SWEAT RUN 2015 + online loot

Image
After a half year hiatus, I finally met up with my ‘Makan Buddies’ in July. This time, our meet up venue was at Suntec City, and we decided to settle on Korean cuisine.     We settled at Guksu Noodles House , and I MUST  do a special shout-out for their Korean Fried Chicken, as it might be the only reason for us to come back for more!       Each bite was amazingly good, and was 'Heaven Scent' (haha). The inside was moist and succulent ,while the exterior of the chicken was good and crispy. It tasted so nice that we kept increasing my orders, and ultimately we each had about 3 drumsticks. (Uber sinful, but who cares when it comes to good food!)   Apart from the Soy Fried Chicken , we also ordered the Pork Jeongol which is commonly known as 'Army Stew'. It is good to share among for 2-4 pax, which therefore made it a brilliant choice for us!   The damage was SGD98-ish and I look forward...
