Nong Geng Ji Hunan Home-Style Cuisine (农耕记湖南土菜) , is a popular restaurant chain in China, and they serve Hunan cuisine , which reflects the local appetite for high-quality Chinese home-style cooking. Being a newbie to Hunan cuisine, I was excited to give Nong Geng Ji a try and discover more about Hunan dishes. What We Tried We were a small group of 2 so we only ordered 3 dishes. Stir-fried Cabbage with Dried Shrimp We started off with this simple homely dish, and it was simply delicious. It was cooked to perfection. I added this dish into my MUST-ORDER list! Braised Beef Brisket with Potatoes It was satisfying, with tender, flavorful potatoes and brisket that melts in your mouth. While the beef could have been a touch more tender, the dish still offered plenty of warmth and comfort.
