A day out with Hay Boy at PlayLAH! Carnival

Image
August is a month for celebration, as it is our nation's birthday, and it also welcomed the launch of the World's current favorite mobile game app, Pokémon GO! Also, this month featured a heart-warming and proud moment for all Singaporeans, when we shocked the entire world to clinch our VERY FIRST GOLD MEDAL in the Olympics Games! We have finally seen our Singapore flag being raised up during the RIO2016 Olympics, and it was a sense of pride to air our National Anthem to the world, who was obviously unfamiliar with it! Thanks to National Hero, Joseph Issac Schooling for making us proud!   Baby and I brought my cute nephew to an educational carnival, ' PlayLAH !', which was held at Singapore Expo  to celebrate Singapore's 51st Birthday. Jasmine and Meryl joined in the fun with us too! We took many random photos together. Hay Boy enjoyed himself at the PLAY ZONE very much. He tried th...

[upcoming concert] My Singapore Project: Charity Concert 2014

Image
The 'My Singapore Project' is in its fourth year running. Led by local singer and composer Lorraine Tan , this movement has grown from a small individual project to a large scale one that involves schools, education institutions as well as like-minded individuals from the broader community who believe in helping the less fortunate through music. Every year, Lorraine will create an original song and music video in celebration of National Day, with the hope of inspiring fellow Singaporeans to help the less fortunate as they pursue their dreams and work towards their goals. Her song and music video in support of ST School Pocket Money Fund last year had garnered over 240 thousand views and awesome comments on YouTube. Music video clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-7HKFduAqA . This year, together with presenting charity sponsor, CapitaLand Hope Foundation , the movement aims to raise 375 thousand dollars for their official beneficiary - President’s Cha...

The Singapore Blend exhibition at Bugis+

Image
We had a date with Hongwei, who just came back from Brunei training, and we met up for meals and a movie. As we while'd a bit of our time away before the movie started, we decided to walk around Bugis+, and we came across an art corner with some exhibits, and we stopped by and took a closer look of the exhibition...     The Singapore Blend is an exhibition event by the  Visual Communication and Media Design students from Singapore Polytechnic (SP) Design School , and it is organized in collaboration with Bugis+ and the National Heritage Board .       Each project is done beautifully and I simply couldn't resist myself to take pictures against them.       There are over 10 exhibits which provide interactions via sensory immersion, and most importantly, the showcases make us feel proud as Singaporeans...     This exhibit is very Singaporean, as the  God of Wealth will reveal a rew...

[Charity Fund Raising Concert] My Singapore 2013: 'Shine Singapore'

Image
I attended the inaugural Shine Singapore Charity Concert which was held at Esplanade Concert Hall ...      Lorraine Tan started the 'My Singapore' project in 2011 with the aim of using music to bring people together and be united as a nation. Every year, the project hopes to help families and children from the lower-income bracket to fulfil their basic needs.     In 2012, the charity element was added to make this project more meaningful, and this year all proceeds from the concert were donated to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.   I really love the ambience of the Esplanade Concert Hall, but the downside is that all mobile networks will be cut off once entering the theatre hall. Oh well, maybe this will give us a very valid reason to give our full attention and concentration when the performance begins... 'My Singapore' project is a community and charity movement lead by Lorraine Tan (local singer...
