Dinner at Teahouse 1973 + Misc Local Eats

Image
I was pretty sad to learn that my bosom colleague/friend Suni had submitted her resignation letter. Her last day in the company was coming real soon.  Leaving the company doesn't mean losing a friend, and this is an assurance she repeats to us. However, the thought of not being able to meet her anymore daily in the office made us all feel gloomy. However, we are comforted by the fact that she ensured she would meet up with us often to catch up over a meal!   I invited the Lee family over to join me for a swim during the Hari Raya holiday, and they enjoyed themselves very much, especially Baby Rena. We took a photo at the SkyPark!  We went to nearby café - Teahouse 1973 for dinner. It is a humble café which serves traditional home recipes of culinary flavors of Penang, Malaysia in a modern twist. I ordered the Nasi Lemak with Sambal Sotong. This ‘atas’ Nasi Lemak is beautifully plated - blue butterfly pea rice, with a dollop of sambal chilli on top. Together with other i...

[random] Black Society Restaurant + Kuro Izakaya + Lemon & Herbs Rotisserie

Image
Sunday Dim Sum brunch as usual with Baby and Mommy Vi, and this time we went to Black Society Restaurant at VivoCity!  This was my first visit to this restaurant but the second time for both Baby and Mommy Vi. We began our meal with their favorite appetiter, Deep-fried Fish Skin . They tasted light, crispy and addictive. We ordered the Boat Styled Porridge , but l've had better as I felt it tasted kinda bland.   I loved the tasty Braised Chicken Feet with Beancurd Skin very much, and it was really different from the ones we normally had from other places! I enjoyed the Siew Mai topped with Fresh Prawn very much. We had Steamed Pork Spare Ribs with Cellophane Noodles , and it tasted pretty good. It was one of my favorite items out of the eatery that we had ordered! We ordered the Scallops with Asparagus Rice Roll , and it tasted pretty decent. The damage was SGD87-ish, and thanks Mommy Vi for the lovely treat! ...

[random] I love my friends

I was pretty sad to learn that my bosom colleague/friend, Marianne had submitted her resignation letter. Her last day was exactly 3 days after I came back from my NZ trip! Leaving the company doesn't mean losing a friend, and this is an assurance she repeats to us (#rinajy and myself). However, the thought shared between us of not being able to meet her anymore in the office made us depressed. And yet, we are comforted by the fact that Marianne ensures us we will meet up often as 'MR.J' lives on! On her last day of work, she gave chocolates to the colleagues who are close to her, but the intimate ones like us got a written sweet farewell note from her! She went for her 3 weeks plus holiday to USA (USWC) immediately after her last working day. Later on, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a postcard from San Francisco! OMG! She had sent me a postcard during her second week in the States. Thanks Buddy, you are so sweet...

Bottega Verde's New launch - SPLENDIDA

Image
Bottega Verde is pretty new in Singapore, and therefore many of us might be unfamiliar with this beauty brand. In fact, Bottega Verde is very popular among the Italians, and I was glad to be invited to the launch of their latest anti-aging range of products, the ' SPLENDIDA'. The motto of Bottega Verde is 'Nature comes First' , as they believe that authentic and natural beauty is of the utmost importance. This award-winning Argan hair Mask was out of stock (OOS)! Oh well, I will try it when they replenish the stock back in store .  Apart from receiving some skincare tips from Dr Tania , a cosmetologist from Bottega Verde Italy , we were also given generous shopping deals too. I picked up a Nut Oil & Red Berry Hair Mask and Rose Cleansing Gel/Foam for only SGD27 in total.   Thanks Bottega Verde for the welcome gift as well as the door gift!  This is a sad throwback on a past meal, ...
