Meal for 2 at Shao + Kota88 Restaurant + TamJai SamGor

Image
September is Baby’s birthday month, so I booked a table for us for dinner at 'Shao' , a Teochew Seafood Restaurant which is located at the Frankel Avenue.   Ever since the first visit to ' Shao' , I have been in love with their version of the Wok Fried Hor Fun, as every piece of thick Hor Fun (flat rice noodle) was coated in fragrant oil and aroma garlic and radish bits. I like the ‘wok hei’ quality in every mouthful we took! Fried Salted Egg Yam Luffa with Scallops and Superior Broth   I added the Fried Prawn Roll as it is a MUST-ORDER item for me. It tasted delicious and it was priced at SGD8 for 4PCS.   The damage was SGD65-ish. In summary, we had a sharing plate of Hor Fun, Luffa with Scallops, Fried Prawn Roll, Fried Salted Egg Yam, and a bowl of white rice.  Nevertheless, we will be coming back again to try other dishes despite the pricey damage, as the quality of the food is top notch! Kota88 Restaurant is a laid-back restaurant along East Coast...

[random] Dinner at Hoshino Coffee + Brekkie at Legendary Hong Kong Restaurant

Image
Hoshino Coffee has its origins from Japan, and the café prides itself on their specialty hand-dripped coffee and fluffy pancakes. Meryl joined RKM for dinner on a random weekday, and we had a delightful meal together.  Don't miss out on Hoshino Coffee's Pot-Baked Curry Rice , as it is served piping hot in a sizzling hot pan.  I love the baked Japanese cheesy curry rice which was served with  generous chunks of sausages, broccoli and a semi-molten egg. Simply amazing!  Have you tried Hoshino Coffee ? They’ve opened a new outlet at VivoCity! This immaculate and classy café  is now serving up delicious food and aromatic coffee, especially this coming Christmas where the café  will have special new dishes to celebrate the holiday season. On my visit here I had Hoshino Coffee’s Christmas Pancakes which was amazingly yummy, and  is definitely instragrammable! Do visit Hoshino Coffee today for a jolly good time!  After a 3 year hiatus, I re-visited...

[short getaway] Perth Holiday on May Day 2015

Image
Baby and I decided on a family trip to Perth, Australia with Uncle Mike, Shelley, Vi-Vien and Diana. We purchased our tickets from Singapore Airlines (SIA) in March at a promotional price of SGD600-ish per person. I was thrilled that I was heading to another country in less than a month after coming back from my 2-week NYC holiday in April. We boarded the midnight flight and we reached Perth International Airport at 5am local time (do note that, there is no time difference between us). Uncle Mike and group actually arrived Perth a day before us from KL. They helped us to pre-book a private transfer from the airport to our apartment at Bull Creek. The transfer was pretty hefty at AUD50 per trip. We reached our apartment at 6am and we took a short nap before we headed out for our first activity.    We left our apartment at 10am to Perth City via subway. We alighted at Perth Underground and took the free shuttle CAT (Central Area Transit). The...
