[random] A day out to Batam + Tung Lok Tea-House

Image
On a random Saturday, I brought my parents for a Day's outing to Batam, Indonesia . My mummy loves the facial cleansing milk and medical/health products from Indonesia, and most of the time, I am the one helping her to stock up on these products. As usual, we took a morning ferry to Batam Centre , and the journey was about an hour.   We went straight to the Mega Mall Batam centre after clearing the customs. I brought them to my favorite eatery place, Es Teller 77 for lunch, and we had Mie Ayam Pedas and I had my all-time favorite drink, Teh Botol . After that, We went shopping and I bought a blouse and a pair of velcro white shoes at a total of IDR464,000.   I also picked up 2 beauty fix items from the hypermarket. I paid merely SGD3 for the Hair supplements from Lucido-L after reduction from the In-house discount!. I got myself a BB Cream from SKIN AQUA at SGD6.       We went for a light snack at Pempek Kolecta befo...

Jess Baby loves cafe-hopping

Image
Both Baby and I are food lovers and we occasionally scoot to any locations to find good/interesting food. Since now cafe-hopping is the trendy thing to do, I suppose I shall have to jump on the bandwagon! LOL... Recently, we visited Butter Studio at Jalan Besar area, and althought it is located along the row of old shop-houses,  Butter Studio stands out clearly due to its striking bright colored yellow exterior. The interior is pretty simple but there are quite a number of random nostalgic ornaments displayed in the shop.   We ordered a pot of organic hot tea and a shared a slice of Yuzu Cheesecake. I love the fragrance of the tea leaves very much, but the cake tasted pretty normal.       The damage was SGD13-ish, and the price we paid is pretty standard for every cafe we visit lately.   The GSS is on now, and lately I bought quite a number of stuffs! I got 3 dresses from Lowry's Farm as they...

Nice chill-out place: The Brew and Bake Company

Image
We had our dinner at authentic China eatery, named  Fashion tastes House, which is located near Clementi. This eatery place offers authentic Szechuan Cuisine. We had a humble dinner and the damage was SGD21-ish. After our meal, we walked over to the newly-opened cafe, The Brew and Bake Company for some tea and desserts. The setting of the cafe is pretty simple and the only thing that caught our eyes was the huge collection of classic and vintage toys that were displayed at the cafe. Each toy brought back many fond memories of yester-day and I love the nostalgic feeling.     I have not seen this ' Fraggle Rock on Wheels' for a very long time! Apart from the toy display, one of the highlights in the cafe is the primary colored retro chesterfield furniture that was from Thailand. *Happy Vibes* There are no food entrees, only coffee, tea and pies/cakes. We had Lychee Cheesecake and Brownie as our desserts, and...

[super long back-dated] Retreat : Kuala Lumpur's food galore

Image
My trip down to Kuala Lumpur (KL) this time satisfied my ‘makan’ craving, as I was able to taste authentic local food. Everybody knows that both Baby and I are food lovers and we are simply mad about food... My OOTD(s) during my stay in KL, MY… My 3D2N Kuala Lumpur (KL) trip was pretty fruitful with loot and food… I stayed at Subang Jaya, the outskirt of Kuala Lumpur as it is near to Selangor. After reaching Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia, we were still feeling hungry, so we headed for local brunch in Subang Jaya... We settIed at Har Keong Restaurant and this eatery place is very popular in Subang area… I had Prawn Wanton Hor Fun while Baby had Chicken Rice which originates from Ipoh. The Hor Fun is very silky smooth and the broth tasted flavorful.    Do come early as it is pretty crowded during the lunch hours... We had some donuts from Crispy Kreme at Mid Valley Shopping Centre for ...
