[Fall Italy Vacation] Day 07: Cinque Terre via La Spezia - 2D1N at Vernazza

Image
Heading to La Spezia from Florence takes about a 3 hour journey. We left our huge luggage with a luggage storing service called ' Bounce Luggage Storage' upon reaching   La Spezia Centrale Station , and the cost for each luggage was approximately 5 euros per day.  We only packed the essential/necessary items we needed into our haversacks for a 2D1N trip to Cinque Terre ! The easiest way to get to Cinque Terre is to take the train from La Spezia  which connects us to any of the other train stations at the five magical villages in Cinque Terre . We booked a night's stay in an apartment at the village of Vernazza .  It is considered one of the most beautiful villages of Cinque Terre . Cinque Terre started as a collection of fishing villages, and now, it is one of the top travel destinations in Italy. It is known for its cliffside villas and endless hiking and walking paths. It maintains an authentic atmosphere, and it is the perfect vacation for hiking and re...

[Fall Italy Vacation] Day 06: Shopping at The Firenze Mall

Image
We had a quick breakfast at the hotel before heading to our shopping venue. Before travelling to Italy, I did some research for outlet-styled malls, and I found a place named The Firenze Mall which is located at Florence.  Prior to our arrival to Florence, we purchased the bus tickets to The Firenze Mall online, and the journey took us about 45 minutes to reach the destination. Once we arrived, we headed to Baby’s favorite brand - Gucci, and it had an unbelievably long line (no surprise), so we joined the line too. The Gucci outlet is huge! Baby picked up a Gucci Men's Laptop Messenger bag  which was going on sale for a very discounted price of €660 (about SGD924) and a wallet at €295 (about SGD413).   For me, I picked up a Gucci Interlocking G logo-plaque Leather Chain Crossbody Bag at €890 (about SGD1246). I also went over to the Versace outlet store to pick up the La Versace Medusa Lambskin Leather Wallet   at   €295 (about SGD406). Both of us felt that ...

[Fall Italy Vacation] Day 05 : Exploring the City of Florence - Hello ‘David’ by Michelangelo + Ponte Vecchio

Image
Good morning! Our room stay was inclusive of a daily breakfast, so we headed down to the hotel café to enjoy the mini buffet spread! There was a decent selection of continental and American breakfast spread. After our breakfast, we continued to explore Florence as it was truly a city of magic! While making our way to the museum, I took some photos  against the gigantic statue which was located near to the  Piazza del Duomo. We had bought our tickets online in Singapore prior to our visit. This is highly recommended so that you can schedule your preferred visitation slot on all the signature attractions in the city. This is especially important as you may not be able to secure tickets there as it is very popular. Our first visit was to the G alleria Dell Accademia  which houses Michelangelo's famous and gorgeous statue of David. The Galleria Dell Accademia also houses a small collection of paintings which I found less interesting than the ones at the Galleria Degli Uffizi...
