[random dinner] Nostalgic-themed local café - Downstairs + King of Fried Rice

Image
Baby came to  Suntec City  to have dinner with me at a newly opened local food joint - 'Downstairs'. It is a Singaporean nostalgic-themed local café located at the basement of Suntec City. There are many familiar childhood things & sights, such as the inspired chess round stone tables/chairs which were quite common at HDB void decks, but have grown more uncommon now. There also a HDB-styled old school letter-box, and Hopscotch markings on the floor! However, the most unique thing would have to be the kiosk where you have to input your order. It's been made to look like the old orange coin phone booths of yesteryear! I ordered the  Curry  Pork Cutlet Rice, and Baby had Hainanese Pork Rice with Tomato Sauce.  We had a nice dinner overall. The damage was about SGD21. Baby and I will come back to try out their other mains and breakfast sets! Gong Xi Fa Cai !  It’s that time of the year again to begin feasting on delectable goodies!! What better...

How I spend my weekends?

Image
I love spending quality time with my Baby on weekends! Baby brought me to a coffee shop  which is located Geylang Lorong 17 to try out an eatery that serves Ipoh style Chee Chong Fun , which is served in a curry broth.   I had the Curry Chee Cheong Fun  is a staple dish in Ipoh that is served with pigskin and long beans in a curry broth!   Apart from the Curry Chee Cheong Fun, we also had  Yong Tau Foo in Hot Soup . We   picked and chose our food items at the stall display.   We also had the must-have food item which is known as ' Sak Kok Liew'  in Cantonese. The Turnip is  wrapped with dried shrimps and rolled into a circular shape with beancurd skin, and then deep-fried until it turns golden brown! I really enjoyed the crispiness of the exterior, as well as the firmness of the interior!   I was delighted to find this hidden gem in Geylang for  Yong Tau Foo and  Curry Chee Cheong Fun fix! I am back again to T...

[United States holiday] Chelsea Market + Madison Square Garden

Image
My New York trip continues... Baby woke up at 6am almost every morning, as there is a gym in the hotel. He would have some exercise before we started our activities for the day. As for me, I either woke up at the same time as him to get ready, or stayed in bed to get more beauty sleep, or to watch MTV. Baby normally came back by 7am. Normally, we left the hotel at the latest 830am, in order to start exploring New York. In this post, I will bring you to Chelsea Market . We walked to the subway station (the distance was barely 5 minutes), and took the subway (ACE to 14th Street Station) for Chelsea Market. Chelsea Market is located opposite Google office!  The interior resembles our renowned Pasabella, but of course the scale and selection are bigger and wider. Chelsea Market is a food hall and shopping mall located in Manhattan . It was once a factory that produced biscuits and cookies, but it has now became one of the city's prime touris...
