A re-visit to Changi Jurassic Mile + SUPPER FRI-DATE at Tachinomiya + BBQ party at SUO

Image
Meryl and I fixed a date to complete our virtual run on a random Sunday morning.  We met up at the Sports Hub and successfully completed our workout to obtain an e-badge from the 42Race App! After our morning workout, we went to the Old Airport Road Food Centre , to have the delicious Lor Mee from Xin Mei Xiang Lor Mee  新美香 卤 面 .  To our surprise, the queue was short, as I was the second in line. I love the gravy as this is the key element in a good Lor Mee. It is thick and flavorful, and I really love this bowl of Lor Mee to the max! Baby and I spent our Sun-date at  Tampopo  which is located at  Takashimaya Shopping Centre. This eatery place is well-known for their  Kuro Buta . The main agenda of making this visit was that Baby needed to renew his membership, and we were given a welcome voucher to redeem within 60days. One of the benefits of being a Tampopo Member is that a SGD20 voucher will be given on the member's birthday month!   YAY! I ...

BARE YOUR SOLE 2016 - SHOW YOU CARE, GO BARE

Image
The Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s annual barefoot walkathon, Bare Your Sole was back for its eight edition, and this year the event was held at the OCBC Square, Singapore Sports Hub. Participants in this walkathon are to tread a distance of either 2.5KM, or 5KM in order to raise funds for the less privileged and give awareness for those still living in poverty in Singapore, and around the world. I was excited to attend my 2nd 'Bare Your Sole' event, and felt doubly good as this event was for charity! This is not your usual 'run', but a special walk, whereby you do not wear shoes/slippers during the walk! I was glad that Baby joined me for this event, and we were up at 6am as this event was starting early at 730am! We arrived and there were already throngs of people, but unfortunately, while awaiting the flag off, it started to rain heavily. The organisers had little choice but to bring forward some of the games and host activities that we...

[Running Clinic] My first train-up for Mizuno Ekiden Singapore 2016

Image
The second instalment of the Mizuno Ekiden will take place on 16th of July, 2016 at The Promontory @ Marina Bay! This year, the race is making its first full-fledged Ekiden race in Singapore, at 4pm in the evening.   Ekiden is a term referring to a long distance relay running race in Japanese culture. There are two running categories (half marathon - 21.1km ; full marathon - 42.195km) for  Mizuno Ekiden Singapore 2016 . I signed up for the half marathon with my two running buddies (Tracy and Jasmine) together with my Baby. I will be the second runner for my team in this relay run.   To help us in preparation in our forthcoming run, Mizuno organised a series of running clinics for the runners. I attended the first running clinic that took place on a Saturday morning at the Singapore Sports Hub .   Coach Sham led us through the warm up exercises before our 4km/8km run training. We did the cool down exercise under hi...

[#RunToLiveGreat Fringe Activity] Polar Training Run at Sports Hub

Image
As a part of the #Runtolivegreat Challenge , I received an Adidas workout tee and a pair of New Balance running shoes together with my personalized training manual. I attended my very first fringe activity, Polar Training Run at Singapore Sport Hub . Being a participant, we need to fulfill at least 2 main/mega fringe activities, as this is to help us in our training leading up to the Great Eastern Women's Run (GEWR) which will take place in 09 November 2014. We were given a short briefing before the training commenced. The Singapore Sport Hub boosts a very nice view and ambience that perks up my sleepy Saturday morning. We started off with a slow jog as mentioned earlier during the briefing, and there were many pit-stops along the run training, where we had to do physical exercise training like Jumping Jacks, running on the spot, Sprints, etc. It was pretty tiring to do these physical trainings together with our run training. Bef...
