[random] A day out to Batam + Tung Lok Tea-House

Image
On a random Saturday, I brought my parents for a Day's outing to Batam, Indonesia . My mummy loves the facial cleansing milk and medical/health products from Indonesia, and most of the time, I am the one helping her to stock up on these products. As usual, we took a morning ferry to Batam Centre , and the journey was about an hour.   We went straight to the Mega Mall Batam centre after clearing the customs. I brought them to my favorite eatery place, Es Teller 77 for lunch, and we had Mie Ayam Pedas and I had my all-time favorite drink, Teh Botol . After that, We went shopping and I bought a blouse and a pair of velcro white shoes at a total of IDR464,000.   I also picked up 2 beauty fix items from the hypermarket. I paid merely SGD3 for the Hair supplements from Lucido-L after reduction from the In-house discount!. I got myself a BB Cream from SKIN AQUA at SGD6.       We went for a light snack at Pempek Kolecta befo...

Makan Journey: Hakata Ikkousha + Tsujiri

Image
I met up with my makan buddies for our monthly makan outing. Hongwei gave the suggestion for our makan haunt again, and this time, we went to Hakata Ikkousha which is located at Tanjong Pagar Plaza . Hakata Ikkousha won the ultimate Ramen Champion in 2011 and 2012. The two time Ramen Champion, Hakata Ikkousha opened 2 outlets in Singapore in Tanjong Pagar Plaza and Chijmes.   Hakata is a city in Fukuoka, Japan, where it is known for their springy and thin ramen noodles. The chef has done a good job in bringing authentic taste and cooking methods, and the eatery place was also well decorated with a sense of Japanese feeling.     Hongwei and Jax ordered the Clas sic Tonkotsu Ramen , and the broth is simmered for over 12 hours and bears a creamy texture.       Terence and I had the Black Tonkotsu Ramen , and it is made of special fried garlic that will definitely please all garlic lovers.     Hongwei b...

Exploring Jess Baby's space

On a random Sunday, Baby and I went to Bugis+ for dinner, and while we were heading up for more food joints on the 4th floor, there was a Singtel Mio roadshow going on. We were stopped by the ONE ASIA TV promoters as they are promoting the new Korean drama series, My Love from the Star . They gave away drama premiums to ONE ASIA TV facebook’s fans , and I got mine too... Hahaha!! Baby and I took some photos at the photo booth before we left the roadshow for our dinner at Ramen Champion... Ramen Champion, the ONE-STOP place for Ramen Junkies, and both Baby and I tried the Bario Ramen . Bario Ramen uses thick noodles instead of the normal thin noodles, and the broth tasted awesome. All I can say is it's delicious and rich, and it is definitely worth my 2 thumbs up. I think I will never go to other Ramen joints at Ramen Champion at Bugis+, as I ONLY love Bario Ramen ... Last year, I won a Red Bull Hamper through The Red Bull ...
