[The Peranakan] Authentic Straits Chinese Cuisine
The Peranakan is an authentic Nonya/Straits Chinese cuisine restaurant in Singapore, and they are located at Orchard Road at the Claymore Connect , opposite The Forum! This place attracts many patrons who enjoy and love classic/nostalgic Peranakan dishes! I grew up eating my grandma's and aunties' Peranakan dishes, and from time to time I do crave having these very unique dishes. Most of the Peranakan favorites are available here, such as Kueh Pie Ti, Ngoh Hiang, Nasi Ulam, Ayam Pong Teh, Nonya Chap Chye and many more. The restaurant is easily spotted from a distance due to its floral wallpaper, huge chandeliers and Peranakan styled ceramics that are used. The interior décor is so elaborate!
