[Happy Weekend] Tan Yu 探鱼 - Somerset 313 + Donburi King - PLQ

Image
Happy weekends!  Baby and I headed to town to have our late lunch at  Tan Yu 探鱼,  which is located at Somerset 313 . Both of us are not a fan of classic mala cuisine, so therefore, we ordered the Grilled Fish with Soy Sauce (a non-spicy version!). For our easy indulgence, we picked up the fish fillets instead of a whole fish. I enjoyed eating the Noodles with Garlic Oil very much, and it has become a ‘MUST-ORDER’ item in  Tan Yu 探鱼  for me!  The total damage was SGD73-ish, which I felt that the price was a bit on the higher side as compared to other similar concepts in town. However, the food was tasty, and the portions were acceptable, so these factors made up for the hefty damage. I received an email invite from FANCL  to their Core of Beauty Virtual Masterclass ! I redeemed the goodie bag after the zoom event from a preferred outlet of my choosing. I received   a 5-Day Whitening Trial Kit  which included 10 packs of Moist Refine Lotion I,...

[random] All about food across JB and SG

I chanced upon Hold-Zhu Tea way back in 2013, and at the time, its location was at Taman Desa Tebrau . It was the café/restaurant that I've ever seen that utilized shipping containers as its premises! Now, it has been re-named it as ' The Metallic Kitchen' .   Recently, I went to their second branch at Golden Triangle Pelangi, Taman Pelangi for some teas and snacks.   As mentioned before, The Metallic Kitchen was set up using recycled shipping containers which made it environmentally friendly. This unique design allows patrons to enjoy their meals and drinks within the cosy container box for a different dining experience!     To beat the scorching weather, we ordered 2 icy teas and some fish fingers for our tea, and the damage was RM29.   Apart from the indoor seating, the eatery place also offers an alfresco setting. I love the swing seats very much. I sat on the swing bef...

An impromptu dinner at Masizzim

Image
A handful of us had an impromptu dinner at Masizzim which is located at 313 Somerset . It is a Korean eatery place which is specializes in Korean Meat Stew and Pancakes! Be prepared to wait if you are coming in a big group, such as we were, as no reservations are allowed. We waited for almost 35mins plus for our table for 6 pax. We ordered 3 different types of Korean signature stew, which consisted of Spicy Chicken, Beef and Pork. Each stew ordered came with a bowl of white rice. Three simple steps to order the meat stew:- 1) Choose the types of meat 2) Choose noodles type - glass noodles or Korean-style udon 3) Choose between soy and spicy level from level 1-4 Out of the 3 different type of meat stew we ordered, I personally like the Beef Stew best. The meat was well-marinated and slow cooked in Masizzim's secret soy sauce for long hours. The beef tenderloin was soft and the lean meat was tender too! We ordered the popular Ancho...
