[random] Happy Weekends!

Image
Happy weekdays! Emerald Hill is one of the more conservative areas in Singapore, and used to be home to the wealthy Peranakan Community. It is also one of the most colorful streets in Singapore and the classic shophouse location has become one of my favorite places places for a nice OOTD. Baby and I revisited the famous Hong Kong Cha Chan Teng,  Honolulu Café  which is located at Centrepoint . We had our Sunday Brunch and I personally still feel that it was overrated. To be honest, I was already dismissive of the place when we first visited the original café in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, I think the Singaporean branch is cut from the same cloth, as service was meh and the food was mediocre at best. The other Hong Kong cafes based in Singapore seem to be better in my humble opinion, but my baby seems to like this place so I humored him.   The bonus thing for me is that I really love their egg tarts. They were delicious! Friday dinner date with my Baby at  Le Shrimp, ...

[food review] Affordable Japanese fare at Misato

Image
Misato is a contemporary and chic restaurant that serves exquisite Japanese cuisine at affordable prices. The restaurant only uses the finest premium ingredients which are imported directly from Japan for their dishes. Even the gloves and face masks used by the kitchen staff are from Japan too. Every dish is freshly cooked on the spot upon ordering to give a fresh and delectable taste of Japan to customers to indulge in!      Recently, they have relocated to The Centrepoint , and I am honored to have been invited for a tasting at their new location.       The Chawanmushi (SGD4.90) is an ideal start to a meal, and it is a MUST-ORDER for me! The restaurant crafted it to perfection by using Homemade Dashi Stock which was cooked from scratch! I loved the smooth texture, and it made me wish to have more!     Cha Soba is my MUST-HAVE entrée when visiting a Japanese restaurant,...

[personal] Happy Barkday Coco + random-ness

Image
Coco came into my life in 2006, when she was only 3 months old. Now, she has turned 11 years old on 3rd January 2017. Baby and I decided to bring her to Happenstance Café , a dog friendly café which is located at Opal Crescent . I ordered some ribbon pasta with carrots and broccoli for her as her Barkday treat.  Baby and I ordered a waffle with ice-cream for sharing, as well as a pot of tea for ourselves. Happy Barkday Coco! Stay healthy always. She still looks as lovely and adorable as the first day I had her 11 years ago. In our hearts, she is always our lovable furkid!  During a recent visit to Kim Gary , I redeemed the a monthly offer of XO Carrot Cake at no cost as I am a member of this eatery! I had my favorite Shanghainese Rice with Chicken and mushroom as my main. Being a member, I was also entitled a weekday 10% discount off the total bill, which added an extra dining pleasure for me! We...

[random] Jess Baby's corner

Image
I am so happy to see Collar again, and I simply adore this big size guy! He looks like an adult, but in reality he is still a puppy! As the tender age of 5 months old, he’s already built like a guard dog!    We had our dinner at Eagle's Nest Restaurant which is located at Kelab Golf Negara Subang (KGNS). It was a  delightful dinner and we were only here in KL for a night as we drove up on the Saturday late morning. We left KL on the Sunday afternoon.    Happy 65th Birthday, Uncle Mike! Although we only stayed a night, I still had my shopping desire fulfilled all thanks to the latest mall, Da:Men in USJ. I had to also restrict myself from spending too much as I am heading on a shopping spree trip in a few days time! Not too worry, this restriction will not apply to where I am heading and I will definitely make time to explore the city and enjoy the delicacies there too.
