One of the world's best loved musicals, 'THE SOUND OF MUSIC' is back in Singapore again at the MasterCard Theatres, Marina Bay Sands . Due to popular demand, the show has had it's run extended till the 3rd of December 2017.   'THE SOUND OF MUSIC' tells the uplifting true story of Maria, the fun-loving governess who changes the lives of the widowed Captain von Trapp and his seven children by re-introducing them to music. This musical is family-friendly entertainment for all ages, and 'THE SOUND OF MUSIC' hits all the right notes!   I was there for the play back in 2014, and I still enjoyed myself as much as I did 3 years ago. ' THE SOUND OF MUSIC' still touches my heart although this was my second time watching this musical. I love some of the memorable songs that were performed at the Musical Theatre stage, such as Climb Ev'ry Mountain, Edelweiss, The Lonely Goatherd, and of course, the main song, The Sound of Music !   ...

This iconic performance touches the hearts of all ages and it is definitely a show not to be missed.    The story is about an aspiring nun, Maria who becomes a governess and changes the lives of the widowed Captain Von Trapp and his seven children by re-introducing them to music and culminating in the family's escape across the mountain.  Captain Von Trapp intended fiancée, Elsa, is a sophisticated lady but the two seem to be uncomfortable in each other's companionship. However he finds sparks whenever he is with Maria.   I love the singing from Mother Abbess, as her powerful voice filled the whole theatre, when she sang 'Climb E'vry Mountain' .
