[random eats] Starker Bistro + Tok Panjang

Image
I love Public Holidays!! We started off on our date by having the Macdonald's limited-time offer Purple Sweet Potato Waffle Cone Ice-cream ! Both of us enjoyed it immensely! Next, we went to the 'Starker's Bistro' outlet at HILLV2 . We ordered a pint of beer ech, and also got a plate of Salted Egg Sweet Potato Fries as an accompanying snack. The damage was SGD56-ish. We spent quality time at the Starker Bistro discussing about Baby's birthday trip in September! I end my day with our zi char fare for dinner at Bukit Timah Food Centre . The damage was pretty decent, and was great value for money! Tracy, Linda and I met up in a Monday evening for dinner, and we settled at Tok Panjang Peranakan Cafe which is located at Dorsett Residences Singapore . We made use of the Eatigo App that allowed us to enjoy a 30% discount off the total bill! Tok Panjang serves up classic and delicious Nonya dishes. We had a goo...

[The Peranakan] Authentic Straits Chinese Cuisine

Image
The Peranakan is an authentic Nonya/Straits Chinese cuisine restaurant in Singapore, and they are located at Orchard Road at the Claymore Connect , opposite The Forum! This place attracts many patrons who enjoy and love classic/nostalgic Peranakan dishes! I grew up eating my grandma's and aunties' Peranakan dishes, and from time to time I do crave having these very unique dishes. Most of the Peranakan favorites are available here, such as Kueh Pie Ti, Ngoh Hiang, Nasi Ulam, Ayam Pong Teh, Nonya Chap Chye and many more.   The restaurant is easily spotted from a distance due to its floral wallpaper, huge chandeliers and Peranakan styled ceramics that are used. The interior décor is so elaborate!   Lead by Executive Chef Raymond Khoo and his team whom have served 3 generations of Peranakan recipes, they offers authentic Peranakan fare made from quality ingredients without the use of MSG at all. Every corner of t...

[PJ, Malaysia] Dinner at Little Heritage House

Image
Nothing gets better than having a weekend getaway to KL. Baby drove in to Malaysia on a super early Sunday morning. We arrived Kuala Lumpur at around 9+, and it was just nice for breakfast. We had our usual Bak Kut Teh at Chuan Chiew which is located at Subang Jaya.   After we were done with our brekkie, we left our Foresty for servicing at the workshop, and borrowed Uncle Mike's car to Sunway Pyramid to some shopping and Pokémon  hunting! I picked up a black top from Padini Concept Store  at only RM19, a pair black skorts which cost RM39, as well as some random hair accessories.   We had afternoon tea at Full House which is located at Sunway Pyramid .   We shared a yummy dessert, Panna Cotta , and it tasted pretty good!   Apart from the dessert, we had Popcorn Chicken too. The damage was RM42 with a pot of Rooibos Tea .   We had dinner with a group of about 8 people at a Perankan pl...
