Dinner Gathering at Hey Kee Restaurant + Wedding Anniversary Celebration at Acqua e Farina Restaurant

Hey Kee Restaurant is a newly opened eatery in the east, near Geylang. Therefore we decided to have our early reunion with my usual ‘Lucky 7’ clique! The dining ambience is akin to Hong Kong’s famed 大牌 档 (dà pái dàng) experience with a vintage HK interior design.  大牌 档 (dà pái dàng) means ‘big licence stall’ in Cantonese where these open-air food stalls used to dot the streets and alleys of Hong Kong. Hey Kee’s menu ensures that they offer a wide variety of dishes on the menu at relatively wallet-friendly prices as to  maintain the legacy of 'Dai Pai Dongs' There were a few photo spots at the eatery, such as a HK retro old-fashioned barber shop that had a spread of hair-styling/make up brushes as props, and a HK retro bus stop! My meal started with  'Fai Cai Yu Sheng'  for our ‘Lo Hei’ celebration. 捞鱼 生  is a tradition during the Chinese New Year (CNY) period, as we Chinese believe that the higher one tosses the Yu Sheng, the better luck we will have for for the w

To celebrate St Patrick’s Day, Guinness , the iconic Irish brew has launched a multi-sensory journey in a new campaign, ' The Guinness Experience' , which welcomed the members of the public who are above 18 at Fountain Square, CQ @ Clarke Quay to immerse themselves in the world of Guinness! Both Baby and I visited the interactive exhibits that highlight the preparation process, as well as the history and heritage of the brand along with innovations that included the new Guinness Nitro-Surge and Guinness Micro-Draught displays. We ended our Guinness journey at the outdoor bar to savor the iconic flavors of Guinness! On a random Sunday, Baby brought me to Southside Market Hall which is located at Siloso Point, Sentosa . (next to Siloso Point Cable Car Station) It is an open concept food hall by the waterside, and the seats were allocated to us, although I'm sure I could choose wherever I wanted to sit if I decided to. We came on a late Sunday afternoon and surprisingly, i

Prior to our departure, we had purchased our 5-Day TAKAYAMA-HOKURIKU TOURIST PASS PASS which allowed us to travel from Nagoya to Gero / Takayama / Shirakawa-go / Kanazawa / Kyoto / Osaka ! We decided to skip both Kyoto and Osaka in order to spend more time on the places that we hadn’t been to before, such as Gero, Takayama, Shirakawa-go and Kanazawa. We said goodbye to Nagoya for the time being, and headed to our next destination, Gero. We checked out of the hotel in the morning, and we made our way   to the JR station. We picked up some onigiri(s) and a kawaii Tori Bento before boarding the JR Limited Express . The journey was around 1.5+hours. Gero Onsen is one of the three most renowned onsens in Japan. It is known as a ‘spring for beauty’. Upon reaching   Gero   Station, we waited for our complimentary hotel shuttle to pick us up to our accommodation. We booked a night stay at  Suihouen . Baby booked a ryokan stay under my name as part of my birthday celebration. Suihouen   off
