[run event] Great Eastern Women's Run 2015

Image
I am one of the 17,000 women who participated in this year's  Great Eastern Women's Run (GEWR) which was held on the 1st of November 2015. This year was special as it broke the record for the largest number of female participants to gather together for an all-women run in Asia. Photo credits to Great Eastern Women's Run 2015. This year, Great Eastern Women's Run (GEWR) celebrated their 10th Anniversary, and not only were they just promoting healthy living, but this year's run also for a good social cause, as proceeds f rom the runners and Great Eastern contributed a substantial amount for charity. For the very first time, participants donned colorful tutus in a myriad of hues ranging from pink, blue, purple and yellow, in support of three unique women, as well as children related charities. Apart from the 3 main race categories - 5KM, 10KM and 21.1KM half marathon, th...

[GEWR 2015] Welcome session of #RuntoLiveGreat

Image
This year, Great Eastern Women's Run ( GEWR) 2015 celebrates 10 years of empowering women to live healthy and great through running, and at the same time, to commemorate SG50.   Thanks for the invite! This year, I was not part of the  #RuntoLiveGreat programme, but I will still participate in the Great Eastern Women's Run (GEWR), which will be taking place on the 1st November of 2015 at The Float@Marina Bay . I attended the welcome session of  #RuntoLiveGreat  together with the selected 80 pairs of participants which was held at  The Luxe Museum. During the welcome session, we had the chance to meet up with the  #RunToLiveGreat  influencers, Cheryl Miles and Kelly Latimer and the most inspiring pair from last year’s edition - Zann Soh and her mom, Teo Yok Wan. The female pacer Ranjini Mei Hua was also there. They shared their personal experiences and tips to encourage the participant...

My running journey continues with Great Eastern Women's Run

Image
I signed up for the  Great Eastern Women's Run race, which is Asia's largest women-only on the 9th November 2014.     This year, my race pack was delivered to my doorstep. Thanks so much for making this arrangement for me, and I appreciate it loads! It consisted of an Adidas tee, a Tupperware Eco water bottle, race bib and finally, some sample products and discount vouchers from the sponsors.     I met up my running buddy, Tracy at The Float@Marina Bay as she needed to deposit her belongings at the baggage counter. As for me, as usual, I have my Baby to send me to the race venue and I left my belongings in the car.   The race started at the Singapore Flyer and finished at The Float@Marina Bay . This year, the crowd was overwhelming for my run category, the humble 5km! The race was flagged off at 7.40am, and it set off in waves of people. We crossed the start line in the third wave.   Tracy and I came bac...

[#RunToLiveGreat Fringe Activity] Sh'Bam Rockout at True Fitness Suntec City

Image
I attended my last GEWR fringe activity which was the Sh'Bam Rockout at True Fitness Suntec City .   I never heard about Sh'Bam Rockout before, prior to this event. Oh well, to me, all I know that it is an aerobic workout similar to Zumba. I didn't expect myself to like this intense cardio workout in the beginning, as I expected myself to be unable to catch up with the trainer's movements. However, after a few sets, I slowly began to feel more comfortable in doing the workout together as a group with the trainer. There are many turnings, footwork and jumping which I found hard as I was new to this aerobic dance and rhythm. The continuous jumping and dance left me feeling exhausted, and therefore I burnt a lot of calories through this workout.   After the session, I took some welfies with my GEWR buddy, Tracy and my lovable babe, Samantha.   Thanks True Fitness for the lovely goodies bag!   Our post...

[GEWR 2014 Activity] Cooking workshop with Tupperware

Image
I attended a cooking workshop @ Tupperware office as part of the activities of GEWR 2014 , and it was an interesting event as we got to have hands on cooking session.   To be honest, I do cook at times, but my cooking skill is still at best, at a basic level. I want to learn more recipes in order to prepare meals for my family, loved ones and even for myself too.   This cooking workshop was a pretty good move for me to gain more cooking methods and inspirations.     I met up with my training buddy, Tracy for the event, and during the event, we were taught how to make 3 recipes, Yam Cake, Egg Tarts and Garlic Spread.     First recipe was the Yam Cake, and we followed the instructions step by step in making the delicious home-made yam cake.     Tupperware Extra Chef (SGD138) helps to ease the job by chopping and blending the ingredients together effortlessly.  The yam cake tasted pretty g...
