Day Trip to JB, Malaysia + Weekend Brunch at Five Star Hong Kong Style Handmade Dim Sum + Dinner at Gu Zao Ren Taiwanese Porridge

Image
On a random Saturday, we decided to go and visit Johor, Malaysia. To beat the traffic, we used the second link instead of our usual route of the Woodlands causeway link. The Woodlands route is always jammed so we decided to go in by Tuas instead. Upon clearing the customs, we drove to  Bukit Indah  for shopping and of course to do lunch. We settled at The Home of Original Sarawak Noodles -  Face To Face  面 对面  which is located at Taman Bukit Indah . This simple eatery place offers delicious and authentic Sarawak noodles– Mee Kolok and Handmade Pan Mee. I had the traditional Sarawak noodle, and the serving size was pretty   reasonable. They also provide different types of homemade sauces, chili and sambal, to go with the noodles. The s ide dishes are available as well, and we ordered the Penang Lor Bak . The damage was RM50-ish. I picked up some earrings from  Bukit Indah , and  I love the earrings selection at Destiny Jewelery. For our dinner, ...

On a random Sunday, we decided to go and visit Johor, Malaysia. To beat the traffic, we used the second link instead of our usual route of the Woodlands causeway link. The Woodlands route is actually nearer to our home, but it's always jammed so we decided to go in by Tuas instead. Upon clearing the customs, we drove to Bukit Indah for shopping and of course to do lunch. We settled at Kinashi Japanese Restaurant.     Baby had Chirashi Don, while I had Tenzaru Soba. I love my main very much as it combines two of my favorite classic Japanese dishes: tempura seafood and vegetables, and Zaru-style cold noodles.       We also shared a Dragon Mango Roll. The damage was pretty hefty at around RM123+ (including drinks).   As I stated in one of my previous posts, one of our favorite eateries at Taman Mount Austin had shut down recently and was now permanently closed. Luckily enough, we came across a similar and decent eat...

[random-ness] Makan at JB

On a random Sunday, we decided to go and visit JB, Malaysia in order to take advantage of the currency exchange rate! Although the exchange rate for MYR is now slightly lesser than 3 against Singapore dollars, it is still a pretty good rate. Upon clearing the customs, we drove to Bukit Indah for lunch, and we settled at Tea Garden . Baby had Ipoh Hor Fun , while I had Braised Duck Rice . We shared Steamed Yam Cake and Beancurd Roll . The damage was pretty decent at around RM40+ (including drinks). We walked around Aeon Mall to purchase mooncakes for our parents. Before we ended our day, we had an early dinner at Sushi Mentai which is also located at Bukit Indah. The sushi on the conveying belt was charged as per the colored plates used (yellow plate at RM1.80 ; red plate at RM2.80) We had a filling meal and the damage was pleasant to our pocket at around RM60-ish. I end my post with another purchase from  MISSHA . I picked up...

[SG50] SG HEART MAP @ PARKS + random eats at Thai Boat Noodles

Singapore, my homeland is celebrating our 50th years of independence in August 9th 2015. To welcome the Jubilee Year, there are many activities and programs lined up to celebrate this happy occasion among the fellow Singaporean. SG Heart Map is to relive many Singaporeans' memories such as games we played, things we did and places we been to during our childhood times. Claressa and I joined in the celebration of SG50, SG Heart Map @ Parks , and it was held at Bishan-AMK Park , Lawn I / Lawn II . Many Singaporeans shared their favorite haunts/places in Singapore that left a feel impression in their life.  We saw many nostalgic displayed that we remembered in our old good days, and we immersed ourselves at the park by reliving our yester-year's memories. Thanks Claressa for asking us along to join in this joyous occasion at SG Heart Map event! On a random Sunday, we drove in to Bukit Indah to do some sho...
