Good morning, Okinawa ! As usual, we headed down to the club lounge to enjoy our breakfast.  After our brekkie, we made our way to another attraction in Okinawa - Shuri Castle   which is located at the heart of Okinawa . It is one of Okinawa's leading tourist spots, and is built based on Feng Shui. It was said to have been built around the 14th century and is a unique Ryukyu Castle with both Chinese and Japanese characteristics. Shuri Castle  was destroyed by a fire in 2019, and reconstruction is currently underway. There are three levels of viewing areas for visitors to see the actual restoration work being done in real time.  How often do visitors have the opportunity to see the work of the carpenters and craftsmen up close?! The showcase also teaches us the importance of the traditions and techniques  of Ryukyuan c culture, on which has been passed down through the years to generations of Okinawans! I was really impressed by the structure of Shuri Castle ...

This time round, I ordered the traditional Japanese breakfast set.  After our brekkie, we headed down to another attraction in Okinawa . We were interested to experience ‘Traditional Okinawa’ , by visiting Ryukyu Mura, and this was our itinerary for today. Ryukyu Mura  is a  historical park that is dedicated to traditional Okinawa culture, and also the perfect place to experience first-hand, the spirit of the islands.  Just the sight of the architecture was magnificent, and we were really excited to explore this wonderfully themed village! Inside the park, there was a row of traditional Ryukyu houses, which recreated the olden-day Okinawan atmosphere. From what i have heard, it is often used as a location for filmmaking.
