A re-visited to Cumi Bali

Image
After a super long hiatus of 12 years, I finally re-visited Cumi Bali. The reason why we stop visiting this eatery place is that Baby is no longer working at the Tanjong Pagar area. There were many times we had the intention of re-visiting this eatery place,  but the town traffic always makes us think twice about doing so. However we still missed dining at C umi Bali. I suggested to visit this place as our Fri-date, as it is still our favorite haunt for  Indonesia Fare. However the restaurant has since changed its premises, although it still is within the Tanjong Pagar area. What really surprised us was the hefty increase in the menu prices, as it seemed to be on a tremendously higher side now. Cumi Bali Indonesia Restaurant serves really authentic Indonesia Cuisine. Their Sambal Belacan is a MUST for me, as it tasted REALLY spicy, and it perks up my appetite. To my surprise, I noticed that in the menu the Sambal is chargeable at a dollar per serving. I still went ahead to ...

Meal for 2 at Shao + Kota88 Restaurant + TamJai SamGor

September is Baby’s birthday month, so I booked a table for us for dinner at 'Shao' , a Teochew Seafood Restaurant which is located at the Frankel Avenue.   Ever since the first visit to ' Shao' , I have been in love with their version of the Wok Fried Hor Fun, as every piece of thick Hor Fun (flat rice noodle) was coated in fragrant oil and aroma garlic and radish bits. I like the ‘wok hei’ quality in every mouthful we took! Fried Salted Egg Yam Luffa with Scallops and Superior Broth   I added the Fried Prawn Roll as it is a MUST-ORDER item for me. It tasted delicious and it was priced at SGD8 for 4PCS.   The damage was SGD65-ish. In summary, we had a sharing plate of Hor Fun, Luffa with Scallops, Fried Prawn Roll, Fried Salted Egg Yam, and a bowl of white rice.  Nevertheless, we will be coming back again to try other dishes despite the pricey damage, as the quality of the food is top notch! Kota88 Restaurant is a laid-back restaurant along East Coast...

Recently, both Baby and I were craving for a comforting bowl of porridge, so in order to indulge my stomach craving, and we went to  'Gu Zao Ren Taiwanese Porridge' ! It is located at Changi Road , and they offer an extensive of variety of items on their menu to choose from. I really love their  Taiwanese Sweet Potato Porridge , and the best part is that after ordering your first bowl of porridge, subsequent bowls are free, so you can eat as many bowls as you want! My favorite dish to go along with my porridge is definitely the  Stewed Pork Belly with Mei Cai . Apart from the Stewed Pork Belly with Mei Cai, we also ordered  Brinjal with Minced Meat in Claypot and Hot-Plate Tofu . Our ‘DINPER’ (late dinner + early supper) at  Gu Zao Ren Taiwan Porridge  was really enjoyable. Do check them out if you’re craving for a comforting hot bowl of porridge at affordable  cze char  prices. My recent brekkie! I have been eating salad as part of my m...

Media Tasting by Sunbird Brewing Company and the Launch of Ondeh Ondeh Beer + Tasting review by ZOU.HOMEMADE

Image
Heading out for an event on a Saturday afternoon....  The event was held at OrhGao TapRoom which is located at Serene Centre.   Sunbird Brewing Company is the newbie in the local craft brewing industry, and currently it offers a range of four craft beers – Pale Ale ‘Fly in Light’, White IPA ‘Birds of Paradise’, Scottish Ale ‘Eclipse of the Sun’ and Belgian Witbier ‘Fluff Up’ . During the media tasting, F ounder of Sunbird Brewing - Clive Tan described the Pale Ale ‘Fly in Light'  as having a citrus and passion fruit aroma, but I found this Pale Ale from Sunbird Brewing is slightly malty as compared to other Pale Ales in the market and it can be considered as the lightest and easiest to drink among the four beers. Great for ladies and newbies!    The Belgian Witbier ‘Fluff Up ’ which was described as a popular choice among the ladies had a stronger after taste, and was less diluted as compared to the Pale Ale.  ...
