I attended the ' Night of Sports' event, which was held at the  iFly Singapore, Sentosa which was a charity fund raising for Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) in conjunction with their 5th Anniversary Celebration.   iFly Singapore is one of the world's largest themed indoor skydiving simulator with more than SGD25 million being invested to make it a truly first-of-its-kind and state-of-the-art body flight facility and attraction. iFly Singapore makes you feel like you've gotten a real deal, but more importantly, it is safe and affordable!   Recently, iFly Singapore has made it into the list of TripAdvisor's 50 iconic places to visit in Singapore and was awarded the 2015 Certificate of Excellence for its impeccable customer service.   Local Para-athletes from sporting categories in Singapore came together to raise funds and awareness for SDSC.   Mr George Yeo was there t...

[BARE YOUR SOLE 2014] CHARITY WALK FOR A GOOD CAUSE

Image
Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s annual walkathon Bare Your Sole is back. The barefoot charity walk was held at the iconic Gardens by the Bay East , where participants from all walks of life had the choice to trek along a 2.5km or 5km scenic route to show their support for the cause.       Fund-raising helps the Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s local programme Project HomeWorks, an initiative designed to improve the living conditions of the elderly, the sick and the physically challenged living in one-room flats across the nation.    This year marked the sixth edition of Bare Your Sole , and it has helped the fund raised close to SGD300,000 in the fight against homelessness and poverty. Eunice Olsen and Paul Foster were there to grace the event...       I was glad to be part of this meaningful event with my walking mate. Though this was the sixth year for Bare Your Sole but it was our first-ever 5km Charity w...

[Charity Fund Raising Concert] My Singapore 2013: 'Shine Singapore'

Image
I attended the inaugural Shine Singapore Charity Concert which was held at Esplanade Concert Hall ...      Lorraine Tan started the 'My Singapore' project in 2011 with the aim of using music to bring people together and be united as a nation. Every year, the project hopes to help families and children from the lower-income bracket to fulfil their basic needs.     In 2012, the charity element was added to make this project more meaningful, and this year all proceeds from the concert were donated to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.   I really love the ambience of the Esplanade Concert Hall, but the downside is that all mobile networks will be cut off once entering the theatre hall. Oh well, maybe this will give us a very valid reason to give our full attention and concentration when the performance begins... 'My Singapore' project is a community and charity movement lead by Lorraine Tan (local singer...

Carnival of Drums is an annual community relations and fund-raising event organised by Students Care Services.     Students Care Services (SCS) is a charity organisation that has been offering social work services to students with social, emotional, learning and financial issues for the last 37 years. Their mission is to provide professional and effective services and programme to serve the students and their low-income families.   Through this fund-raising platform, it enables families, companies and different communities to come together to experience connection by engaging in a common activity – Drumming , and of course support a good cause.   Drumming is a healthy activity that knows no boundaries, and it transcends age, race and culture.       Upon registration, Jas Jas and I explored the six cultural villages (Children, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indian and Indonesian)     With the ex...
