Day trip to Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Image
Another long-planned outing to JB with the girls after a long hiatus of 3 years was finally fulfilled on a random weekend. Both Meryl and Sweetie joined RKM for a full day trip worth of shopping, 'makan-ing' and singing!   Upon reaching JB, Malaysia, we settled at our favorite eatery place, Restoran Yit Foh which is located at Taman Century. We never fail to visit this eatery place whenever we drive in to JB. As always, the meal i most look forward to is breakfast, in order to start a brand new day!     Restoran Yit Foh serves very delicious Wanton Noodles, and the egg noodles blended very well with their seasoning sauce. The freshly prepared preserved green chilli is worth a mention too! I love the piping hot soup which has generous portions of wantons the best! My wonderful weekend brekkie was satisfied by a plate of delicious wanton mee and a big sharing bowl of Wanton Soup!   We love shopping in JB, due to our strong currency convers...

[random-ness] Mother's Day celebration + Étude House Workshop

Image
My sister-in-law organised a Mother's Day celebration session for my Mommy at Putien Restaurant. This dinner was at Kitchener Road branch, which has the Michelin Star award! My parents and I met up with my brothers and their partners/family at the venue itself. I had no idea that this branch was the one with the Michelin Star award! They only offered set menus, so we decided to take up the OCBC card promotion to enjoy the dining deals.  Mommy was delighted as my bro prepared a fruit cake for this occasion. We had a pleasurable experience at the restaurant due to the good services rendered to us!  I went for the ' Dear My Glass Tinting Lip Talk' Workshop that was conducted by the 'Makeup Maestro'  Dave Kim from Korea. This was a private event meant for only members of Étude House.  The workshop was conducted at Bugis Junction outlet. Every member and their plus-one were given a generous goodie...

[personal] Geylang Claypot Rice + Guksu Noodles House + Hauls

Image
After a long 4 years hiatus, Baby and I finally re-visited the famous Geylang Claypot Rice, which is located at Lorong 33 . It is advisable to call up the restaurant and place your order for their signature Claypot Rice to avoid long wait at the premises. We didn't do the pre-order as it was an impromptu decision from Baby. We waited for about 20-25mins as the claypot rice needs at least 20 minutes to be prepared from scratch.     The rice texture was great, and the chicken meat was well marinated and tasted flavorful. I really love the generous servings of Chinese Sausages (lup Cheong).   Apart from the rice, we also had Tofu with Crab Meat and Thai Style Soft Shell Crab . The damage was pretty hefty at SGD51.   My colleague/lunch mate, Joanne suggested to have our lunch at Olivia & Co for lunch. The recently opened café is located at Suntec City Mall (between tower 1 and tower 2). The dining area is an open-concept ...
