[#RunToLiveGreat Fringe Activity] Polar Training Run at Sports Hub

Image
As a part of the #Runtolivegreat Challenge , I received an Adidas workout tee and a pair of New Balance running shoes together with my personalized training manual. I attended my very first fringe activity, Polar Training Run at Singapore Sport Hub . Being a participant, we need to fulfill at least 2 main/mega fringe activities, as this is to help us in our training leading up to the Great Eastern Women's Run (GEWR) which will take place in 09 November 2014. We were given a short briefing before the training commenced. The Singapore Sport Hub boosts a very nice view and ambience that perks up my sleepy Saturday morning. We started off with a slow jog as mentioned earlier during the briefing, and there were many pit-stops along the run training, where we had to do physical exercise training like Jumping Jacks, running on the spot, Sprints, etc. It was pretty tiring to do these physical trainings together with our run training. [BARE YOUR SOLE 2014] CHARITY WALK FOR A GOOD CAUSE

Image
Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s annual walkathon Bare Your Sole is back. The barefoot charity walk was held at the iconic Gardens by the Bay East , where participants from all walks of life had the choice to trek along a 2.5km or 5km scenic route to show their support for the cause.       Fund-raising helps the Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s local programme Project HomeWorks, an initiative designed to improve the living conditions of the elderly, the sick and the physically challenged living in one-room flats across the nation.    This year marked the sixth edition of Bare Your Sole , and it has helped the fund raised close to SGD300,000 in the fight against homelessness and poverty. Eunice Olsen and Paul Foster were there to grace the event...       I was glad to be part of this meaningful event with my walking mate. Though this was the sixth year for Bare Your Sole but it was our first-ever 5km Charity w...

[throw back] NAVY@VIVO

Image
RSS Persistence , the Navy's ship has landed at VivoCity and it was opened to the public (balloting required ). I was happy to be able to board the ship on the last day of the open house, all thanks to CK.     RSS Persistence is the biggest warship and this was such a privilege for me to get the chance for the exclusive visit of the magnificent ship.     Pr ior to this, I was advised not to wear heels, slippers, short skirts or even long maxi dresses, as the stairs were very steep and I REALLY had a hard time though I was wearing shorts and pumps.     To beat the crowd, we met up pretty early in the morning at Harbourfront to go for the first slot to board the RSS Persistence.     NAVY@VIVO is a yearly event for the public to experience what Singapore Navy personnel do when they are onboard the ship. This is one of rare chance as civilians like me, as we don’t get the chance to boar...
