[Day 02/03] First trip to Northern Thailand, Chiangmai

Our stay was inclusive of breakfast, and I must say the spread was quite decent with a fair selection of international and Thai dishes. After breakfast, we went on a journey to visit as many temples in Chiang Mai. There are several magnificent and very old temples within the walled old city of Chiang Mai, with the Wat Phra Singh being one of the most attractive. Wat Chedi Luang isn't as grand as the Wat Phra Singh , but it is the ruins of a Lanna-style chedi. It was possibly the largest structure in ancient Chiang Mai, but the top of the chedi was destroyed by either an earthquake or by cannon fire. Wat Phan Tao is relatively small, and there is no fee needed to visit the temple. Wat Phra Singh is one of the biggest temples in Chiang Mai to visit, apart from Wat Chedi Luang. It is one of the finest examples of classic Lanna styled temple architecture in Northern Thailand.  After visiting all these temples, we walked back to our hotel for a body massage!
