My CNY celebration

Image
捞鱼生 is essential during the CNY period, as we Chinese believe that tossing of Yu Sheng will bring good luck for the coming New Year.   Every year, like before, Baby needs to go back to KL, M'sia to visit his relatives, and therefore, we had our mini reunion celebration before he left Singapore on the CNY Eve. We went to our favorite eatery place, Dian Xiao Er .   Obviously, we could not miss on our favorite Signature Angelica Herbal Roasted Duck. In addition to this, we had the Soup of the Day, and a Stir Fried Baby Kai Lan with Lime .     I had a simple yet harmonious reunion dinner with my family on the eve of CNY, with another round of Yu Sheng after the reunion dinner!     On the first day of CNY, my family and I went to visit my aunt's place at Tampines. I had my lunch before heading to the airport to catch my flight to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to join Baby and his relatives for dinner.   I wa...

[makan & Shopping] Madam Kwan's + Bai Wei Xuan

Image
Baby and I went back to Subang Jaya, Selangor again to pick up 'Jazzy' from Uncle Mike's place as 'Jazzy' was kept at the workshop for servicing. We purchased a pair of 1-way tickets from Tiger Airways at SGD117 for the 2 of us. We were happy that 'Jazzy' is back with us again! Without 'Jazzy' for a week, it was really painful for us, especially for Baby, as he stays very far away from his work place.     We re-visited Madam Kwan's after a year of hiatus at Empire Shopping Gallery (ESG). Baby misses her signature Nasi Bojari so we decided to drive to ESG i/o our usual haunt, Sunway Pyramid. In case, you didn't know, there is a  Madam Kwan's in Singapore, but we have never dined there before as the prices stated in the menu here are exactly the same price in Singapore. In short, it is the currency that makes the difference! Madam Kwan's is well known for her Malaysian and Indonesian cuisine.     Baby fulf...

[short 'makan' vacation] Subang Jaya

Image
Baby and I had Pan Mee for lunchie upon reaching Subang Jaya , and we settled at this popular franchise, Kafe Jojo Little Kitchen which is located at Jalan SS15/40 . They offer a wide range of pan mee selections that will be enough for both of us to say 'WOW' There are 3 choice of noodle types to choose for our pan mee meal ( thick, thin or flat piece). I love the Blended Green Chilli with Belachan and the Dried Chilli flakes that are available on each table for diners to add in accordingly to their likings, and all these condiments really contribute the taste to the pan mee and it is definitely worth trying and mentioning. Baby had the signature Pan Mee, Jojo's Pork Pan Mee , and he selected the thick noodles... I ordered a special type of Pan Mee, Lor Pan Mee (thick noodles), and it was pretty different from the normal Lor Mee or Pan Mee Soup. The noodles are very chewy and it tasted pretty decent and I had a wonderful dining experien...
