[Food Review] Kyoaji Dining + British Hainan

Image
This was my first time visiting Kyoaji Dining which is located at 111 Somerset , and they served up well-executed, tasty Japanese dishes, albeit at hefty prices. I love the simple yet classy interior at Kyoaji Dining, as it offered a stylish yet inviting ambience. The fresh delicious Japanese food was well executed. The Kyoaji Gozen Set : the sashimi was of top quality, while the other items were made with fresh ingredients. The Shake Tempura Gozen had the most value for money at this restaurant for such top-grade quality. 📍 Kyoaji Dining   111 Somerset Road,  #02-05 TripleOne Somerset British Hainan is a unique restaurant that offers a unique blend of British and Hainanese cuisine. Stepping into British Hainan transported me into the past, as the premises are filled with antique knick-knacks, vintage artworks and old paintings of celebrities from the past. The decor has a rustic feel, and the spacious area can accommodate large gatherings! Upon being seated, we ordered a ...

Birthday Celebration at American TapRoom + Fast & tasty Tori Karaage from DC Frozen Chicken

Image
Tori Karaage - Japanese fried chicken is always on my to-order list  when dining in at a Japanese restaurant. It is usually found in boneless small bite sizes. Having them in skewers make it a relatively pleasant and easy finger food. Grabbing a stick is way easier than having to use cutlery and is cleaner than using bare hands. I love this awesome idea! Preparing authentic, crispy and delicious Japanese fried chicken is as easy as ABC with DC Frozen Products !! Nothing beats having juicy Karaage Chicken soaked in a Sweet and Sour Nanban Sauce! Chicken Nanban is usually always served with a side of Japanese mayonnaise sauce. Absolutely irresistible! Happy Birthday Meryl! It's one of my bestie's birthdays again, and we organized a simple birthday celebration dinner for her at ' American TapRoom' , a bistro which is located along the Geylang area (walking distance from Kallang MRT Station). We ordered a glass of beer (Summer Session Ale) each  as a form of girl's n...

1st-Monthsary celebration of Moving Day at British Hainan Restaurant

Image
Cheers to our 1-Monthsary on our moving house day! We decided to have a mini celebration for just the 2 of us at the 'British-Hainan' Restaurant which has a branch along Kallang Way, located within an office building called the 'Performance Building'. We started off on our meal with a plate of Hainanese Ngoh Hiang which turned out to be a highlight of the dinner!   They were freshly fried, and the minced pork was well-seasoned. They went so well with the accompanying sambal belachan too! The Hainanese Oxtail Stew was delicious! The meat was  so tender that it just fell off the bone at a touch! The gravy was also thick and full of flavor!    The dish came with some pieces of Baguette, and I loved dipping them into the gravy. The bread was crispy on the outside but fluffy and warm on the inside, and was a perfect accompaniment!     It was a humble homely place that  serves great food, but most importantly it wasn't very crowded even during dinner ti...

[WFH] Additional measures / restrictions under Covid19 Phase 2 (Heightened Alert)

Image
Due to the number of covid infection community cases that have been increasing in Singapore, our government announced additional measures and restrictions under Phase2HA (Heightened Alert) to minimize transmission of the virus as an effort to overcome this resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic in Singapore. Many companies in Singapore now remain under mandatory work-from-home (WFH) policies. I've already gotten used to the working from Home scheme, but honestly I pretty dislike it as weekends are no different from weekdays as we spent 24 hours by staying at home. Luckily, shopping malls and supermarkets are still in operation. We started off the measures from 16 May 2021 and some restrictions will ease on 13 June 2021. To reduce the risk of community transmission, indoor ‘mask-off’ activities such as dine-in F&B establishments ceased. I do think I have gotten somewhat used to this ‘whole new world’! My work normally begins at 8.30am, and now I do not have to waste time on travell...
