[random] More Jess Baby's happenings

I received a package - ' Grilled Mackerel'  by Ottogi , and I am glad that I was introduced to this microwavable grilled fish product which is easy to cook and has excellent quality! The company selected only quality graded   mackerels, brushed them with green tea and turmeric to get rid of the fishy smell, and seasoned them with salt to make sure they are crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The grilled mackerel is a product that is enormously popular in Korea. It was prepared to be enjoyed by the elderly as well as children as 99% of the fish bones have been removed to prevent and avoid injury while eating.  This flavorful grilled mackerel is highly recommended to be served with rice. I had it with my pasta, and it goes well with gochujang hot pepper paste! I love it very much! Lastly, thanks  '0.8L Singapore'  for sending the grilled mackerel over! Happy weekend! Baby and I headed to  Tan Yu  探 鱼   for dinner, and we settled at the T...

[Food post] SUKIYA + Pratunam PLUS + Tan Yu 探鱼 + ManNa Korean Restaurant + Malaysia Boleh

Baby and I finally visited this popular Gyudon eatery at SUKIYA after their successful opening of their flagship outlet at Suntec City in 2021. The horrendous queue shrunk after they have expanded their outlets island wide. All prices are NETT, with an additional service charge. It's pretty affordable for diners! I will definitely come back again, as I really enjoyed the Gyudon very much! Baby and I went to Pratunam PLUS for dinner after our work, and it is located at Bugis+ . We ordered the R unny Omelette Prawn Fried Rice , Prawn with Vermicelli on Claypot and Seafood Tom Yum ! We also shared the P rawn Donut , and it tasted heavenly delicious! It is definitely a ‘must-try’ as claimed by the restaurant itself! Lastly, the Moo-ping was absolute amazing, and both of us enjoyed it very much. The total damage was SGD59. Baby is the sweetest hubby, as he prepared dinner on a random weekday during WFH. We had  Curry Rice with Sausages, Carrots and Potatoes  for dinner. I...

BBQ gathering at SUO + Dinner at Xin Yuan Ji + Tan Yu 探鱼

Image
Due to the easing of the COVID-19 restrictions, the BBQ Pits at our Condo are opened for booking, and the pits are often full on weekends. Even though there are 4 pits in the premises and there are only 2 sessions for each pit per day, they are usually still full! JJM organized a BBQ gathering, and he booked the second slot (5-10pm) and the pit we booked was the one nearest to our tower. We enjoyed ourselves very much and the BBQ party was a success! Kudos to the Lee family who prepared most of the ingredients and brought them over, and also thanks to J, who did most of the cooking for us.   Alles Gut! Our gathering ended at 10pm. After seeing how much fun the BBQ session was, it gave me a morale booster and the enthusiasm to organize more BBQ gatherings in the future with my family, friends, and colleagues! After more than half a year of hiatus, Baby and I finally headed down to town to have our dinner at  Tan Yu  探 鱼 , which is located at S omerset 313. This t...

[All about food] Ippudo Ramen + Soi 47 Thai Food + PAUL Bakery + Tan Yu 探鱼

Image
It has been 3 years of hiatus since I last visited Ippudo Ramen , therefore Baby suggested to go there for our dinner fix. We settled at the outlet which is located at the basement of Marina Bay Sands . We ordered a bowl of ramen each as our main course, as well as a side dish. The damage was pretty hefty as we paid SGD50-ish. We both enjoyed the rich broth and chewy ramen texture! I re-visited Soi 47 Thai Food which is located at King George Road . We started off with our favorite Thai Prawn Cake , and it tasted super yummy! We ordered a bowl of Tom Yum Cream Soup with Seafood . The spiciness level was just right for us, as it was pretty authentic. The soup does come with generous portions of seafood, which included fried fish and prawn. The total damage was about SGD30+.  On the last week of February, I met up with Tracy for lunch, and we settled at PAUL Bakery . This café offers a wide collection of French pastries and they also offer all-day breakfast. We settled ou...
