Happy FIRST Birthday Hayden!!

  My nephew, Hayden turned one this October and we were so happy about his arrival last year.     Now, Hayden is officially a toddler and no longer a baby which means he can start learning new things and preparing himself for his up-coming pre-school lessons.       Henry, father of Hayden whom is also my brother threw a birthday celebration for his son, and the theme was Toy Story.     Baby Hayden dressed up like  Woody , the protagonist of Toy Story and he was the key person for this celebration.     Before the cake cutting ceremony started, guests included myself took pictures against the photo-wall which my brother designed and created for all the invited guests.        Apart from the photo-wall, young children  who attended the party also received balloon sculptures as well as a goody bag each before leavin...

The launch of Great Eastern Women's Run

'Scorching me' witnessed the success of the Launch of the Great Eastern Women's Run (GEWR) at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park Grand Lawn 1.     More than 200 women have registered for GEWR which is commencing on the 10th November 2013, and they gathered at the Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park Grand Lawn 1 as part of the launch for Asia’s largest women-only marathon.   The launch of the GEWR was planned as a family-themed carnival and many families attended the carnival despite the scorching sun.    To rouse the carnival atmosphere, there was face painting and balloon-sculpting activities and a free flow of hotdog buns, candy floss, popcorn and drinks from 100PLUS to keep families well-fuelled for the physical activities.      In today’s society, women juggle more than one role each day and they have kinda neglected or did not prioritize their health as much as they ought to, and therefore the Life Company, Great Eastern Life is ...

After the success of the inaugural NTUC’s largest family picnic event last year, U family returns with U Picnic , and this time it is back with a whimsical theme that promises an evening full of fun for families and picnic fans at the tranquil West Coast Park .   The whole family can expect a fun filled experience with lots of food at NTUC’S LARGEST FAMILY PICNIC EVENT on the Saturday, 5 October 2013, 5pm - 9pm (picnickers check in from 4.30pm onwards).   This event is organised by U Family and is supported by NTUC FairPrice, and this year U Picnic attracts both children and the young-at-heart, with its dizzying variety of unique attractions to either create or relive their childhood dreams.     During the launch of the U Picnic , Goldilocks and the Three Bears were spotted having a picnic at Raffles Place during lunch time and they continued to make their second appearance along Orchard Road, where they stirred up anticipation and excitem...
