[random] Dinner at Imakatsu - a Michelin Bib Gourmand Guide Tokyo + Birthday Celebration at Chao San Cuisine

Image
Baby and I love Fridays and we always try to go somewhere nice for dinner after work. We went Imakatsu - a Michelin Bib Gourmand Guide Tokyo , which located at Tanjong Pager Centre . We were excited to dine in as we both haven't had tonkatsu in a while. The meal started with a huge bowl of fresh cabbage with my favorite Sesame (Goma) Dressing Sauce which we happily munched on while waiting for our food! As a sucker for anything miso, I couldn’t resist ordering the Miso Tonkatsu , and it was deliciously succulent. I could taste the freshness of the tonkatsu! I love the gorgeous golden-brown of the tonkatsu with generous miso sauce. I was very impressed with the tonkatsu, as well as with the other side dishes that we had ordered. However, the damage was a bit on the high side, more than I expected. Oh well, the tonkatsu is worth trying as this restaurant does specialize in Tonkatsu after all! My Brother organized a birthday celebration session for my Mommy at  Chao Shan Cuisine...

My food review - Zaffron Kitchen + Kanada-Ya + Ho Fook Hei Soy Sauce Chicken

Image
I love to spend our weekends in the pool, as it is the best way to chase the working stress away!   We visited Zaffron Kitchen which is located at East Coast Road (Katong area) , and I really have to say they have exceeded our expectations! We really enjoyed ourselves and we have ear-marked it as our go-to restaurant whenever we have a craving for Indian cuisine. To accompany the protein we had Basmanti Biryani Rice and Naan Garlic . The biryani rice was cooked to perfection, as it was flavorful and tasty, especially as it was spiced with garam masala. It was a good companion for the main dishes. The Naan Garlic had a fluffy and chewy soft texture, and had a delicate and savory herbal spice flavor. Both of us loved it so much! The boneless Chicken Tikka had a tender and moist texture, with a bold and savory yet sweet spicy smoky flavor! However, our favorite dish of the day has got to be this dish - Butter Chicken ! The boneless tender chicken  chunks were flavorful. Th...

[random] dine-out at Hajime Tonkatsu & Ramen + Saizeriya

With the safe re-opening of Phase 2, RKM finally resumed our favorite routine! We love to drink tea/coffee at any Starbucks premises while chilling during the weekends. We dropped by  Ji Xiang Confectionery  which is located at  Everton Park  to pick up some delicious Ang Ku Kueh, but I was told only the peanut filling kind were left. I love the kuehs very much as the skin was thin as well as soft, while the filling was abundant and not too overly sweet. Thanks Mum Vi for continuing to cook for us even though Phase 2 had opened up. We appreciate it loads! Thanks Mum Vi for making my favorite Steamed Sea Bass with Cai Poh , and thanks to my own mommy who helped to pick up this fresh fish from the wet market! On a random weekday, Baby and I went out for our dinner date after we ended our work. We settled at  Hajime Tonkatsu & Ramen which  is located at  Thomson Plaza.  I ordered a bowl  Kurobuta...

Dinner at Afuri Ramen + Buffet Dinner at Hotel Miramar

Yee Cheong Yuen has been at Holland Village  for the longest time. When Baby and I were still dating as a couple, we had come here before. To our surprise, it has modernised its premises from time to time. This eatery place serves quite a wide variety of Ipoh-fare, but it is most well-regarded for its translucent, smooth hor fun and silken chicken.       I ordered the Curry Noodles with Silken Chicken set which come with a small portion of dumpling soup and a drink. Baby had the Three Treasure Rice which with Char Siew, Roasted meat & Chicken meat , and his set also came with a small portion of dumpling soup and a drink. Apart from our sets, we shared a plate of ‘Wu Xiang’ (Gor Hiang) as our side dish. The damage was SGD29, which I personally found it pretty decent for the amount of food we ordered.     Baby and I went to Funan Mall for lunch, and I took a random picture against the cute Line Friends characters befo...
