[Ovarian Campaign Awareness Month] Positively Teal Media Event

Ovarian Cancer is the 5th most common cancer and is also the one of the deadliest Gynaecological Cancer among Singapore women today.

A woman has two ovaries which are part of the female reproductive system and each ovary is made up of different cells each performing its own function, but when these cells grow abnormally, ovarian cancer will be formed.

People who are at risk of ovarian cancer are those who have early menarche and late menopause, infertility or not having children until late in life, family history of ovarian, breast or colorectal cancer and high fat diet.

I attended the Positively Teal Media Event which was held at Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie, and it was an exclusive event as I gained knowledge and it also raise my awareness for Ovarian Cancer

I was given this cute collar badge upon entering the premises as part of the media event...

While waiting for the event to start, it’s cam-whoring time lol...

The host of the night

We were all ears when the presentation was conducted...

Ovarian cancer usually does not have any signs or symptoms in the early stage. The symptoms of ovarian cancer are also non-specific, however there are some common complaints such as bloated feeling in the abdomen, change of bowel habits, abnormal vaginal bleeding, abdominal distension, backache or ache in legs, abdominal discomfort, urinary complaints and lastly loss of weight.

Early detection can save lives. By raising the awareness and show support to the patients and survivors, we are doing a part in protecting the women in our lives.

Diana Ser is the spoke person for this year Ovarian Campaign Awareness Month (OCAM) and during the media roundtable, Pauline, Diana’s personal friend shared with us her experience as an Ovarian Cancer survivor. I have been all ears when she talked about her journey from the day she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, all I can say she is brave and strong to think positively to go for surgery and received the Chemotherapy treatment to ensure that all abnormal cells have been killed.

After the speech presentation, several plates of mouth-watering canapés were rendered to us, and not to forget our all-time favorite teal macarons which was specially prepared for this campaign by Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie.

I was glad to be able to bring back the teal macarons for my pleasure indulgence. Thanks Canele for the kind arrangement!!

Do check this out, all macarons lovers, there will be a 3-hr Macaron Workshop conducted by Executive Pastry Chef, Christopher Grilo from Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie.

The last segment of the event was everyone’s favorite and it was the lucky draw... My lucky draw no. ‘6’ was the first number to be called up to receive the present...

I got a bottle of perfume from Tommy Hilfiger. Kudos to all the people who are part of this event, and lastly thanks for the invite!!

Make yourself free on the following two TEAL events and let’s protecting our loved ones by spreading the word and creates awareness to the public.

Early detection can be cure. Until there is a test, awareness is best.
