Having meals and chilling out with friends!!
The newly revamped Chinatown Point was a pleasant surprise and a great addition to a somewhat boring Chinatown. There are some new tenants in Chinatown Point and one of my favorite shops is Daiso. Apart from the retail shops, there are new restaurants moving into this mall too, so trio of us (Sweetie, Claressa and Yours Truly) decided to pick Eat at Taipei as our dinner gathering venue.
If you love Taiwanese street food, then Eat at Taipei is the right choice.
Apart from the attractive pricing - street snacks/dishes at below $10, and set meals / bento sets below $20. The restaurant serves a variety of street food from Taiwan, such as Braised Pork Belly Rice, Taiwanese Spicy Braised Beef Noodles, and Vermicelli with Oysters & Pig's Intestines, 'Coffin' Toast and Crispy Chicken Cutlet.
I had Classic Red Tea
Claressa ordered the Taiwanese Meat Sauce Noodles Set which comes with three condiments (pickles, braised peanuts and seasoned ikan bilis)
Sweetie had Crispy-fried Chicken Chop Bento Set.
I got myself a bowl of Taiwan-style Braised Minced Pork Rice.
Lastly, we shared the Sweet Potato Fries among ourselves…
The damage was SGD66. We had a filling and delightful dinner, and I love the girls’ night out gathering and we will plan again for another round of dinner gathering in either end May or early June for Jas Jas’s birthday celebration…
SocialHaus is located at Yong Siak Street (along Tiong Bahru area), and
bears three different dining and drinking experience under one roof : A long,
wooden-topped bar with high chairs, a spacious dining area and lastly an airy
lounge area with rocking chairs overlooking 40 Hands across the street.
I met up my lovely babe, Cindy for a hearty weekend brunch and we selected
this place as our date haunt. Though I was here before for Kiehl's Blogger
Event but was my very first time to dine and relax in the premises.
The eatery place serves mostly western comfort food and Cindy ordered the Mushroom Soup for herself and as per her it was delicious.
Their weekend brunch set on the menu was pretty limited and ordinary, oh
well, nothing to shout about it. I ordered the Sausages Set which comes with 2
Sausages, 2 sunny side up eggs, toast and salad on the side.
Cindy had the Mushroom Set which consists of sautéed mushrooms, scrambled eggs,
toast and salad on the side.
The food tasted pretty decent and one bonus for this place is that there is no service charge or GST so what you see from the menu is what you are paying (no hidden cost) and the service was pretty good too.
After our meal, we proceed to sit at the airy lounge for some chill-out, and so we ordered a bottle of white wine to share between the two of us... OM!! You guys must be thinking why we were drinking at this daylight hour. On well, all I can say this place is perfect place to laze your weekend afternoon or unwind down after work with your friends or your loved ones.
