Red Bull Flying Bach – urban break-dance meets high culture classical music

Germany’s most popular break-dance crew and four-time break-dancing world champions, The Flying Steps, will be performing their very first own production, Red Bull Flying Bach to Singapore’s Esplanade Theatre for the first time.

 
The Flying Steps’ crew members, Lil-Ceng, Mikel and Anna who last visited Singapore in October 2013 to conduct break-dancing workshops in local dance schools and to promote Red Bull Flying Bach. During their three day visit, the trio sampled local cuisines, visited various places of interest, and even interacted with some local break-dancers.  

 
 
Red Bull Flying Bach is an internationally acclaimed show that combines the urban art of break-dancing and the high culture of classical music, leaving audiences enraptured as their creative performance visualizes and revives Johann Sebastian Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier note by note, step by step with piano, harpsichord and electronic beats

 
The 70-minute show which includes tensions rise, like the ups and downs of the notes and contemporary dance meets break-dance. Red Bull Flying Bach won the prestigious ECHO Klassik Sonderpreis, Germany’s major classical music awards, in 2010. Following their sold out European Tour in 2011, the crew is now making their stops in the Middle East, Asia and finally South East Asia in 2014 to showcase their highly acclaimed dance installment.
 
 
Red Bull Flying Bach will be staged at the Esplanade Singapore from 16-19 January 2014. Tickets retail from SGD58 onwards and available on sale at Sistic.
