Singapore International Jewellery Expo 2014

Singapore International Jewellery Expo (SIJE), the largest jewellery show was held at Singapore's glam centre, the Marina Bay Sands from July 3-6 2014. The event is a magnet for the most exquisite range of jewellery and designs from around the world. This is a testimony to the fact that many in the industry here and around the world recognize Singapore as an important destination for fine jewellery, which makes the republic a one-stop hub for industry buyers and traders.

 

The Singapore International Jewellery Expo 2014 celebrated the theme, 'Jewels in Color' inspired by the colorful, beautiful and exquisite display of the jewellery around the world. it is a much-anticipated event annually and provides the ideal platform for fine jewellers and jewellery designers to showcase their unique jewellery pieces to the fast expanding Asian market.

 

 

The show showcased some of the most stunning collections from Singapore-based and internationally renowned jewellers and that formed the majority of the 200 exhibitors. It is supported by the Hong Kong Jewelry and Jade Manufacturers Association (HKJJA), Italian Trade Agency. The Gem and Jewellery Promotion Council, India (GJEPC), GIA Thailand. Standard Chartered Bank is the official bank for SIJE2014. This event is held in conjunction with Great Singapore Sale.

 

Singapore International Jewellery Expo (SIJE) has won its place as a highly successful platform for the industry to showcase its talents and craft.

 

Jewellery is almost always connected to happy occasions, celebrating relationships, are self-expressions and hope for the future. Diamonds have always symbolized love and eternity, and are found in some of the world's oldest pieces of jewellery.

 

The highlight of the show was an exceptionally rare 50.55 carats white diamond, ‘The White Fire’ presented by DeGem. It is valued at USD10 million and certified D color, the highest possible color grading for colorless diamond. The cut is of finest proportion, and this allows the diamond to display spectacular fire metrics with a balanced and cohesive sparkling pattern.

 

I was glad to get the opportunity to view an exquisite pair of diamond earrings in white gold from IVY Masterpiece. The SGD1 million dollar earrings are made up of a cushion cut 10.03 carats fancy intense yellow diamond, a 2.07 carats white cushion diamond, a 8.05 carats white cushion cut diamond and a 2.02 carats yellow cushion cut diamond.

 

The show focused on the latest trends on jewellery crafted in the beauty gold, white, yellow, rose, purple and black, and encrusted in the wildest range of precious stones of all hues. The show also included two jewellery fashion shows.
