[food tasting] Hee Kee Desserts

Hee Kee which means 'treasuring happiness' in Cantonese is located at Jurong Point Mall, and it delivers Hong Kong dessert to all 'tong shui' (literally translated from Cantonese as 'sugar water') lovers.

Hee Kee Desserts is an original store conceptualized by the team behind the popular bubble tea franchise, Sharetea. The menu selection bears an essence of innovation while maintaining and being mindful of traditional values. Hee Kee Desserts brings their all-time favorite Hong Kong desserts with a local twist.

Hee Kee Desserts offers a delectable spread of 80 desserts, with a large range of traditional desserts, there are 6 MUST-TRY desserts in the house.

Traditional Steamed Milk Pudding (SGD3.50) is available in hot or chilled, and is a great dessert for those who are craving for a light yet creamy and delicious dessert.

The Steamed Milk Pudding tasted good, and the texture is soft and smooth. With every bite, it burst with flavor and fragrance. IMHO, it is on par with the one I ate at the popular renowned Australian Dairy located in Jordan, Hong Kong.

Homemade Beancurd with Gula Melaka (SGD3.30) is a simple silky beancurd dessert with gula melaka syrup for a touch of sweetness. The syrup is not strong enough as the taste/fragrance of the ‘tau huay’ is too overpowering and it actually covered the smell of the gula melaka syrup.

Whole Coconut with Coconut Ice-cream & Peanut Crush (SGD8.80) is my clincher of the day. A tropical fruit made into a refreshing dessert consisting of flavorful coconut ice-cream and fresh coconut flesh, which is finally topped with crushed peanuts for a light crunch. I enjoyed it so much that I felt like going for a second round… Hahaha!!

I love how the dessert dish is served, as it separates the coconut drink and the whole dining experience overall is a pleasant one. This dessert is definitely worth both my thumbs up!

Mango Cheong Fun (SGD3.30 per piece)

A well-balanced and healthy steamed treat, which consists of a spongy sweet-coconut infused skin that envelopes a voluptuous mango chunk, which tasted pretty decent, but it can get quite messy while trying to eat it! This is due to the coconut skin being slippery, and it does not hold the mango well, thus it is pretty hard to bite them together.

D24 Durian Sauce with Sago (SGD5.80) satisfies the craving for all the durian fans, it is topped with fresh durian flesh and a generous serving of sago for a delightful treat. The smooth and rich flavor perked up my weekend with joy.

Durian Pancake is a light yet satisfying dessert, it bears a hearty combination of rich durian puree with whipped cream and wrapped in a coconut infused skin. I enjoyed the coconut infused skin as it went very well with the durian puree.

Thanks so much for the invite to this wonderful ‘sweet nothings’ desserts indulgence and the hospitality! Both my partner and I enjoyed the desserts very much and we will be back for our favorite, Whole Coconut with Coconut Ice-cream & Peanut Crush. YAY!!
