[food review] ATTAP HOUSE at Fusionopolis Galaxis

The ATTAP HOUSE is a home-grown brand which was opened in July this year, and the place offers nostalgic local delights of Singapore's yesteryear.

Upon entering the eatery place, you will be transported back to the rolling good times of the 70's and the 80's! The dining setting was warmly lit with brown colored tones, and most of the furniture was made of rattan to achieve the particular homely feeling for diners!

We started off our tasting with some best-seller drinks such as Honey Lemon, Sour Plum and Home-made Barley.

Our first food entry for the tasting was the Otah Bun, and the Otah was delicious, and it tasted even better with the bun...

The Pork Chop Sambal Fried Rice (SGD6.50) received many good ratings from the patrons.

The Grilled Pork Chop was perfectly braised and each bite was a very rich and flavorful combination of sweet and savory, which I enjoyed very much!

One of my favorite food entrees during the tasting session was the Satay Mee Hoon. The homemade satay sauce with crushed cashew nuts won me over!

The yummy Satay Mee Hoon (SGD6.80) was flavorful and they used cashew nuts instead of peanuts!

Each mouthful of the thick sauce tasted divine, and I love the generous portions of ingredients, which ranged from pork liver, cockles, prawns, cuttlefish, tau pok and fresh kang kong.

Assam Fish (SGD5) was tasted alright, but do be carfeful of fine fish bones when consuming. The assam gravy went well with white rice.

Executive Chef Marco Ong has a fruitful 16years experience in the culinary industry, and he demonstrated to us how to cook the Signature Braised Hokkien Mee. It was an eye-opener opportunity indeed!

I was excited to try out the Braised Hokkien Mee (SGD5.90). I expected more from this dish, but it turned out to be pretty normal in taste-wise. Oh well, different people's taste-buds vary! Do give it a try, and judge the taste.

Cashew Fried Rice with Chicken Breast (SGD6.50) was pretty good too, as the rice had the 'wok hei' which gave the dish a BIG 'OOMPH' factor.

We rounded up our tasting session with some traditional desserts!

Bobo ChaCha (SGD3) is a traditional dessert that has been around for many generations in Singapore. The ingredients were plentiful and I love the chewy sago loads!

Waffles with Nonya Kaya and Peanut Butter (SGD3) was up next, and I usually and personally prefer to go peanut butter which usually doesn't go wrong!

We had a delightful session at the ATTAP HOUSE, and we appreciated the invitation s well as the generous food at the tasting event.
