[Singapore] Gelato World Tour 2.0
Singapore was chosen to be the world's first Asian Gelato capital on the Second Edition of the Gelato World Tour. This event was held at Marina Bay Sands. The Gelato Village flagged off the 'Formula One of Gelato' and in conjunction with the celebration of the 50 years anniversary of Singapore.
The Gelato World Tour, the first international travelling competition in search of the best flavors throughout the world, is directed by the prestigious Carpigiani Gelato University. It is also co-hosted by Sigep, the most important exhibition in the world for the artisan production of gelato, pastries, confectionery and bakery products, all held in Rimini Italy.
The 16 Gelato Artisans are experts in dessert making and with their vast experience, they produced a sumptuous array of flavors.
I met up with my peers to visit the Gelato Village, as we are gelato lovers. We came in group and savored the 16 flavors offered throughout the Asia Pacific region.
Visitors were welcome to vote for their favorite flavors from the top 16 finalists. The votes from the visitors and GWT’s Technical Jury will determined the top three flavors to represent the Asia Pacific region at the Grand Finale of the Gelato World Tour 2.0, that will be finally held in Rimini, Italy in 2017.
We were delighted by the amazing flavours freshly created on the spot and presented by new, as well as seasoned Gelato Artisans from the Pacific Asian Region as they pit themselves against each other in the quest to win the prestigious 'World’s Best Gelato' title.
