[FOOD REVIEW] Li Xiang Lan Hotpot 李香蓝重庆火锅

Mala Hotpot is pretty popular among Singaporeans, and various hotpot restaurants have been sprouting up one after another! Li Xiang Lan is the latest hotpot joint in town, and it is a new Insta-worthy Chongqing hotpot restaurant located at Chinatown.

Upon entering the premises, we were greeted by a traditional oriental theme, and Red and Black were the primary colors. The entire restaurant bears a luxurious decor with befitting solid-wood tables and chairs.

Li Xiang Lan opens till 4am daily, and this definitely allows night-goers to mark down this place as another supper place to their list!

There are Three-Pot and Two-Pot options, and these include from the choices of the Tri-Soup Base Hot Pot at SGD26, and Sichuan Spicy Yuan Yang Hotpot at SGD20 respectively.

Diners can opt for a special add on to their meals. A 'Iced bamboo/dripping pot' concept is used, and this ice herb/infusion uses up to 72 different types of herbs. The frozen blend is placed above the hotpot, and over time, begins to melt and drip into the hotpot soup! This gimmick acts as a cooling option and also adds a special flavor to the Pork Bone/Tomato/Sichuan Mala soup.

We also started off on our dinner with some side dishes, and had the Pumpkin Cake which was filled with red bean paste. This was really nice and we enjoyed it very much!

Li Xiang Lan offers a wide array of ingredients to add into the hotpot, and my favorite ones were the Hand Made Shrimp Cake, the Black Pork Belly, and the Beancurd rolls!

Thanks Li Xiang Lan for having us, and QuandooSG and Hpility for the invite! We will definitely return back for more hotpot fix with more friends in the near future!
