Dinner at Teahouse 1973 + Misc Local Eats
I was pretty sad to learn that my bosom colleague/friend Suni had submitted her resignation letter. Her last day in the company was coming real soon.
Leaving the company doesn't mean losing a friend, and this is an assurance she repeats to us. However, the thought of not being able to meet her anymore daily in the office made us all feel gloomy. However, we are comforted by the fact that she ensured she would meet up with us often to catch up over a meal!
I invited the Lee family over to join me for a swim during the Hari Raya holiday, and they enjoyed themselves very much, especially Baby Rena. We took a photo at the SkyPark!
We went to nearby café - Teahouse 1973 for dinner. It is a humble café which serves traditional home recipes of culinary flavors of Penang, Malaysia in a modern twist.
I ordered the Nasi Lemak with Sambal Sotong. This ‘atas’ Nasi Lemak is beautifully plated - blue butterfly pea rice, with a dollop of sambal chilli on top. Together with other ingredients such as full-boiled egg, sotong, achar (pickled vegetables), cucumber slices, crackers (keropok) and petai (stinky beans). It was decent, as the butterfly pea rice was moist and fragrant. The sambal chilli gave a really good kick to it too!
Baby had Seafood Agilo Olio Pasta, and he enjoyed it too!
We ended our meal with some cakes! We ordered two different type of cakes - Apple Crumbled and Chocolate Rainbow Cake.
The damage was pretty decent, as there was no GST and they did not charge extra for water and wet wipes. l will definitely come back soon, since it is within close proximity to where I am now staying!
Baby picked me up from my work place on a random weekday, and we drove to Eunos for dinner. We settled at Kim's Famous Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee. YES, we enjoyed it, but we found the portion was pretty small even though we ordered SGD10 for 2 pax!
I end my post with my recent dinner with Baby at Geylang, Gu Thai Noodles which fulfilled our Thai Food craving... Although, there were some hits and misses, we still enjoyed the meal on the whole!
