[food review] Hamidah's Kitchen + ABC Seafood Charcoal Claypot

When it comes to having supper in Singapore, I usually consider Simpang Bedok – a stretch of halal eateries that open till late – Hamidah's Kitchen is one of the newest additions to the Simpang Bedok area. It offers a wide selection of Indian and Arabic cuisines!

Hamidah's Kitchen is known for its generous portions and friendly service. It offers a variety of food options, and their prices are reasonable. It doesn’t matter if you are looking for a quick bite or a leisurely gathering meal, Hamidah's Kitchen is the perfect place!

My friends and I visited Hamidah's Kitchen for lunch, and upon entering the premises, the atmosphere was warm and inviting.

Hamidah's Kitchen serves authentic Middle East favourites, such as Mandhi Rice. We picked the Chicken Biryani and Mutton Mandhi. Both dishes were served on a large plate.

The Mandhi Rice was a little different from the briyani. It had a stronger and buttery flavour from ghee. Mandhi is an Arabian version of briyani. We relished the Mutton Mandhi very much, as it was incredibly flavorful.

The Chicken Biryani is accompanied by a bowl of thick and rich curry. It gave the rice and chicken a kick of spice, and it helped to add more moisture to the rice too.

My favorite dish was the Lontong Kering with Beef Rendang. The Lontong itself was firm but not too hard and went well with all the tasty dishes especially the Rendang.

We had the Nasi Ambeng Set and the generous size astounded us. For $12, we got massive pieces of Paru, Ayam Lemak Chilli Padi, Sambal Sotong, Irapuato Taugeh, Rendang, Begedil, and Sambal Belacan. We felt that it was pretty value for money, as it definitely filled up our tummies

Looking for authentic Indian and Arabian cuisines? Hamidah's Kitchen is always the perfect spot for a delicious feast. Wait no more, make a date there with your family or friends soon!

Oh ya, they also offer Steamboat & BBQ at $29.90 (2pax) and $58.90 (4pax), on every Tuesday to Sunday from 5pm - 11:00pm

There has recently been an increased number of eateries in industrial areas. Do check out Singapore’s 1st CRAYFISH Charcoal Claypot located at Bukit Batok Industrial Estate - 7 Days Kopitiam.

ABC Seafood Charcoal Claypot is located in a coffeeshop tucked away in an industrial area, and the dining area is quite big. It is large enough to accommodate large groups of people. Most importantly, there are many carpark lots available at the premises!

The eatery place adopted a concept similar to hotpot, as we could also order other ingredients such as meat, vegetables and other seafood items to complement the meal. The broth tasted good, as it had a nice blend of the fresh seafood and the unique smoky flavor of charcoal cooking. What delighted us most was that the soup was refillable.

We had the Signature Crayfish Claypot which came in a good size that was suitable for sharing. The Claypot was served over hot flaming charcoal. We were delighted with the generous number of fresh crayfish.

Nowadays the hype is on charcoal claypot with various seafood ingredients, such as Lala clams and prawns but if you are looking for one that comes with Crayfish, do come here with your family or friends!
