Solomon Kane Preview Screening

I won a pair of tickets to 'Solomon Kane' from Radio1003. Baby finally made it for the preview screening with me this time....

'Solomon Kane' is an epic action film directed by Michael J. Bassett. This film was first shown at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2009... It went on general release in France, Spain and in the UK over the end of 2009 and beginning of 2010.

Rating: 3/5

I feel that 'Solomon Kane' is a pretty unique movie in the fantasy genre, however it didn't do well in the States mainly because there are no American A-List casts. Despite the low-budget, this film boasts surprisingly high production values with great settings, special effects and well-staged sword fighting scenes.

A pretty good dark fantasy movie with a touch of horror. Well I can say that this show is worth watching in some ways... Definitely not a classic due to shallow story-line, but on the whole, 'Solomon Kane' is an enjoyable movie.

James Purefoy gives an accomplished performance in the title role... However he kinda lacks a magnetic presence which distinguishes the most memorable heroes from the big screen.

I had the pleasure of watching the preview screening all thanks to Radio1003. The premiere date is on the 20/January 2011
