Launch of the LG Optimus G

The most feature-rich smart-phone, LG Optimus G, has been making waves in Korea, Japan, United States and Canada and has finally opened its premium flagship in Singapore. The LG Optimus G was recently lauded with a Korea Electronic Show (KES) Innovation Award for its Zerogap Touch Technology and the Optimus G is awarded the iF Product Design Award 2013 for its unique design.

The newly launched smart-phone offers LG’s unique User Experience (UX), supported by industry-leading performance hardware, and encased in a sleek design with a signature Crystal Reflection finish which is applied to the back of the Optimus G for a luxurious look and feel.

Top notch UX features that will be included into the Optimus G to showcase its multi-tasking capabilities and performance are:-

QSlide Function allows you to overlay two different screens simultaneously on one display, allowing users to do two things at one time.

Live Zooming enhances the video-watching experience as users can zoom in up to five times while the video is being played.

Dual Screen Dual Play enables mirroring of displays between the smart-phone and a TV, and also has the ability to display different content on each screen wirelessly.

Quick Memo allows users to write, draw, or jot a memo with their finger directly on the captured screen for sharing instantly with others as an attachment or a URL.

The Optimus G represents a marked change in LG’s approach to the design and engineering of its mobile offerings – a change for the better, bringing the best-of-breed technologies together in a spectacular new design. To affirm this, LG will be embarking on a ‘Change for Good’ campaign, which aims to encourage and empower Singaporeans to embrace positive changes in their lives through a series of inspirational activities and workshops.

I was invited to the launch of the LG Optimus G which was held at the Jubilee Hall, Gardens by the Bay.

My sweetest partner at the event, and we love to cam-whoring...

The media event kicked off with an opening speech presentation...

Speech by Mr Kevin Shin, LG Mobile Communication Vice President of Marketing for Asia, the Middle East and CIS countries.

Speech by Mr John Stefanac, President of Southeast Asia & Pacific Qualcomm Technologies Inc

Speech and Product Introduction by Mr Arthur Huang, Vice President of Sales for LG Electronics Singapore

Without any further ado after the speech presentation, we were given a tour to unveil the LG Optimus G.

During the launch, we were the first few have to hand-ons testing on the device, and the experience was pretty good as LG Optimus G offers one of the slimmest, sharpest and clearest viewing experiences.

In addition, Optimus G has in-built a smart and fun camera feature too that will allow for capturing and seizing those special moments in our lives. With a boosting of camera resolution to 13MP, users will have the opportunity to capture their favourite scenes with:-
Smart Shutter senses camera vibration or the movement of the subject and automatically adjusts the shutter speed for the best shot.

Time Catch Shot enables the user to choose the best among various shots taken before the shutter button is pressed.

Cheese Shutter takes photos easily with voice activation command just by saying cheese, kimchi, smile or even LG.

Low Light Shot Noise Reduction employs a light monitoring system and activates when the camera is used in a low-light situation for the least amount of noise.

Sweetie and I took a photo of ourselves using the LG Optimus G

During the launch, there was a speed test using 3 different brands of smart-phones (the third phone is LG Optimus G)

After the test, LG Optimus G’s speed was way faster than the other 2 smart-phones and significantly showed that speed performance was brilliant.

The LG Optimus G packs wth powerful components and together with LTE capabilities and 2GB of RAM, makes its Android Jelly Bean operating system zippy and responsive. This means that the device will be able to deliver blazing fast data transfer speeds using today’s 4G LTE telecommunication network.

With today’s fast-paced society, everybody has become 'too busy' in life. LG Electronics Singapore is embarking on a campaign to encourage and empower Singaporeans to make positive changes in their lives. Over the past week, the message of change has been popping up in various locations across Singapore, inviting people to think about what they would want to change for good.

The 'Change for Good' campaign teaser video has garnered thousands of views since its launch last week. A light installation has also been erected at Cathay Orchard Cineleisure, while a roving truck has been plying the message of change on Singapore’s streets.

Through the ChangeForGood.sg website, Singaporeans can pledge to change something about their lives, share that promise of change with others, and encourage others who share the same desire for change.

Pledges of change for good can be made and shared on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and Google+. The #ChangeForGood hashtag allows users to view and add to the campaign’s movement, making it a socially immersive campaign.

In keeping with the theme of changing for good, LG will shortly present a series of activities and workshops in a specially designed pop-up experience zone in the heart of Singapore’s shopping belt.

LG Optimus G will be available in Singapore from 2nd February 2013 at Starhub, M1 and Singtel stores. Pre-order is also available via Starhub and M1.
