Café Asia 2015 / International Coffee & Tea Industry Expo 2015 / Sweets & Bakes Asia 2015

Singapore took center-stage as the host for Café Asia 2015, International Coffee & Tea Industry Expo 2015 (ICT Expo 2015) and Sweets & Bakes Asia 2015. This year, the show was co-located with the much-anticipated second edition of Gelato World Tour.

Cafés are the fastest growing niche business in the F&B industry, and café culture has shown a significant increase in Singapore. Café Asia 2015 is a dynamic B2B platform for the sourcing and buying needs of key decision makers and for them to explore new opportunities for collaboration

it was a large gathering filled with fun activities on everything coffee, tea and bakery, including exclusive workshops, classes and demonstrations of the latest technologies, trends and techniques.

The brew bars provided an ideal opportunity for coffee lovers and visitors to sample coffee brewed by the various coffee companies at the show.

I enjoyed my latte from Toby's Estate Coffee very much!

A direct distributor for food-service products and equipment, Sia Huat was at the event too, and their concept is based on a customer's budget to work-out a best value-for-money recommendation.

Gelato World Tour 2.0 made Singapore the first Asia Gelato Capital of the World, for three consecutive days over the weekend. This extraordinary event flagged off the 'Formula One of Gelato' at Marina Bay Sands.

The show will travel to Tokyo in September this year and then to Shanghai. This year, with the presence of the Gelato World Tour 2.0, it was certainly a celebration for all the artisans of gelato, coffee, tea and bakery fraternity.

One of the highlights of the event included a battle for brewers and latte artists who compete against one another at the Singapore National Latte Art Championship 2015 and the inaugural Singapore National Brewers Cup 2015.

The second edition of Sweets & Bakes Asia showcased a range of products and services for the baking and confectionery industries’ supply chain, from machinery to equipment, to ingredients and packaging. It serves as a one-stop hub for baking and confectionery industry professionals to source for suppliers and vendors, to explore business opportunities.

The Singapore Bakery & Confectionery Championship held their second year at Sweets & Bakes Asia. This competition is to aim to recognize baking talents and encourage creativity and innovative among the bakery professionals and bakery students.

The creation art-works are contributed by participants of the Singapore Bakery & Confectionery Championship 2015.

The Selfiii TechnoArt Coffee or, as it is better known, the Selfie Coffee caught my attention at the event, and I was amazed by how it works!

Selfie image is captured via smart-phone, and it will digitally print on the milk foam layer of any coffee latte by using an edible ink. What a memorable drink, indeed!
